An interview I did with Dr. @kurtsclark for the “Pastor in the Pew” series discussing the challenges and relevance of reading Scripture from a African American perspective.

The second part of my interview in which Dr. Clark asks my thoughts about why sometimes the Black community does not own its own voice when interpreting Scripture.

Spent the day training at @brocksgaptrainingcenter with my coach @chrismmagyar . He put me through several courses of fire including a cold run of Tom Givens Baseline assessment. I got work to do y’all 😩 Now back to dry fire to fix some things.
=============

“Today I had the pleasure of introducing my client Ramone to the Rangemaster Baseline Assessment Drill.

To be fair, we have not worked on his single hand shooting or reloads, but he was game to take a spin at it.

I ran it first as a demonstration, scoring 199/200, he then ran it scoring 167/200. This is not bad, considering this is a completely cold run and his first attempt at doing any kind of drill that tests accuracy, speed, and a range of skills

I suspect most of his points dropped were on the dominant and non-dominant hand shooting strings of fire. Getting acceptable sight pictures while managing recoil under time pressure single handed is a cultivated skill.

Rangemaster Baseline Assessment Drill

We use this drill frequently to measure individual skill level, and periodically check to see if we are gaining, maintaining, or losing skill. As the name implies, it identifies a baseline which can be used to track progress or to identify skill sets which need more work.

Use a B-8 repair center, FBI-IP-1 bullseye, or the bullseye on an LTT-1 target, scored as printed. This drill is intended to be shot cold, from concealed carry. If using a full-size B-8, nothing further out than the 7 ring counts as a hit.

5 yards: Draw and fire 5 rounds in 5 seconds, using both hands.

5 yards: Start gun in hand, at Ready, in dominant hand only. Fire 3 rounds in 3 seconds.

5 yards: Start gun in hand, at Ready, in non-dominant hand only. Fire 2 rounds in 3 seconds.

7 yards: Start gun in hand, loaded with 3 rounds only. Fire 3 rounds, conduct an empty gun reload, and fire 3 more rounds, all in 10 seconds.

10 yards: Start gun in hand, at Ready. Fire 4 rounds in 4 seconds.

20 rounds total. Possible score = 200

My thoughts on the Glock 47 MOS and the Walther PDP 9mm Full-size. A lover’s quarrel?
Shoutout to my homie’s @matchgrademediastl @campierre_ @iamjgolley for the Walther and competition shooting inspiration 💪🏾

Do you prefer a Walther over a Glock?

Quick range time after three church services today - 10 yards and 15 yards. Testing out the Glock Performance Trigger I had installed on my Glock 45. It’s NICE! Over the weekend I made some upgrades on my Glock which are listed below:
Gun: Glock 47 MOS Gen 5
Optic: @vortexoptics Defender-ST Enclosed Solar Micro Dot
Trigger: @glockinc GS Performance Trigger
Glock Extended Mag Release
Glock Heavy Tungsten Guide Rod 🔥
Glock Heavy Brass Plug (to balance the gun)
@streamlightinc TLR-1 HLX
Glock +5 mag extension
Holster: @4brosholsters
Ammo: Blazer 147 grain

This is basically a new gun that I’ve fallen in love with even more! Now back to dry firing to fix some things that happened today.

Came back in town and went straight to the range @hoovertacticalfirearms ! After a few warm up shots I spent my shooting time working on the Bill Drill focusing maintaining a consistent grip with each shot and staying primarily in the A Zone.

Question for my EDC community: Do you believe in conceal carrying full size pistols? For me it’s the only size I prefer to carry! I carry my G47 for work and when I’m not working I still carry it.

Do you believe in carrying full-size pistols?
