Here are a little clip from my solo concert at @turkisaarhus earlier this year 😉

The Mirage of Ceuta is a dream sequence depicting a trip to Essaouira, Morocco. A trip through landscapes and city blocks, encountering a range of characters including fellow travelers from far-off lands and intimate moments with local residents.

The guembri’s ancient blues lineage echoes throughout, connecting Moroccan ritual to the blues tradition. A collage of cultures that have both common and disparate elements — desert and dream, tradition and production, encounter and reflection.

Thank you to the Third Way Cultural Alliance for creating the 2024 residency in Essaouira, which made the recordings possible with Jamaaladeen, Randi, Paul, Miriam, and Mohammed. A special thank you to all of the friends and collaborators from Morocco we met along the way.

A tribute to Ilulissat❤️

If you’re in Ilulissat this weekend, here are two special experiences worth checking out!

📸 FISHERMEN & FACTORY WORKERS
Photographer @klausholsting presents 200 large-scale colour portraits celebrating the people behind Greenland’s fishing industry — from the fishermen bringing the catch in from the sea to the people processing it on land.

Photographed over three years around Ilulissat, the exhibition also captures a changing Greenlandic workforce and the meeting between Inuit and Asian, particularly Filipino, workers.

🎶 RANDI PONTOPPIDAN – LIVE
Experience @randipontoppidan performing a unique site-specific work created for Ilulissat. Using her voice as an instrument together with live electronics, she creates an improvised soundscape inspired by the space, the people and the surrounding Arctic landscape.
