When your hunts take you to some of the most remote places on the map, having a plan for emergencies matters.

That’s why I’m using @onxhunt SOS, powered by Overwatch and Rescue. For $49.99 a year as an add-on to your onX Hunt subscription, you get 24/7 professional rescue coordination and emergency coverage when you need it most.

If your hunts take you off the grid, check out onX SOS at the link in my bio. It’s peace of mind for you and the people waiting for you back home. by @randynewberghunter

The more you understand elk, the better you can understand their next move.

In Elk Ecology, Randy Newberg dives into the factors that shape where elk live, how they use the landscape and why they move throughout the year.

The 2026 season has been good to us.

My brother Jason @jwberg2 and I finally had the chance to hunt moose together, and this was one of those classic hurry-up-and-wait hunts. Long days in the tent, a few moments of serious action, and plenty of laughs along the way.

We were both fortunate enough to harvest bulls, which was incredible. But honestly, the real win was getting to spend that time together in such a wild and remote place.

This hunt also gave us the chance to tell the story of how @noslerinc came to be.

Back in the fall of 1946, John Nosler was hunting moose in British Columbia when a well-placed shot from his .300 H&H failed to bring down a mud-caked Canadian bull. On the long trip home, John started thinking about a bullet that would perform reliably regardless of game size or shot angle.

That experience ultimately led him to develop the Partition bullet, and eventually, Nosler.

Nearly 80 years later, we were using that same Partition bullet on our moose hunt.

Be on the lookout for these episodes coming soon to Fresh Tracks+.

Here’s a tip for those of you pronghorn hunting this fall: pay attention to the height of the sage.

Pronghorn rely on their incredible eyesight to spot predators, so they tend to favor shorter sage where they can see danger coming and have plenty of room to get moving. When you’re hunting a new area, look for those rolling hills, ridge tops, and shorter sage.

If you want to master pronghorn hunting and learn more about their ecology, behavior, and how they use the landscape, check out my Pronghorn Ecology course on @outdoorclassofficial .
