The 2026 season has been good to us.

My brother Jason @jwberg2 and I finally had the chance to hunt moose together, and this was one of those classic hurry-up-and-wait hunts. Long days in the tent, a few moments of serious action, and plenty of laughs along the way.

We were both fortunate enough to harvest bulls, which was incredible. But honestly, the real win was getting to spend that time together in such a wild and remote place.

This hunt also gave us the chance to tell the story of how @noslerinc came to be.

Back in the fall of 1946, John Nosler was hunting moose in British Columbia when a well-placed shot from his .300 H&H failed to bring down a mud-caked Canadian bull. On the long trip home, John started thinking about a bullet that would perform reliably regardless of game size or shot angle.

That experience ultimately led him to develop the Partition bullet, and eventually, Nosler.

Nearly 80 years later, we were using that same Partition bullet on our moose hunt.

This pronghorn was hanging out at nearly 10,000 feet with a bachelor group of bucks. Have you ever seen antelope at that elevation? The bucks didn’t seem too interested in mixing it up much, but it was still pretty cool to see. Captured in a @ollincompany Snapshot system.

There are places that make you realize just how small you really are, and the Northwest Territories is one of them.

Everywhere you look, the landscape seems to go on forever. The mountains, the rivers, the weather, and the sheer wildness of the country make you stop and take it all in. It’s hard to put into words what it feels like to spend time in a place this remote.

This trip to the NWT was an incredible experience from start to finish. The hunting is only one part of it. Being out there, surrounded by that much untouched country, is something I won’t soon forget.

This week’s clip comes from the News segment of Fresh Tracks Weekly, where Blake breaks down an issue that could have major implications for waterfowl habitat in the Prairie Pothole Region - North America’s “Duck Factory.”

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is asking for public comment on how drain tile setbacks should be managed around protected wetlands. It’s a complex issue that balances private property rights, agriculture, and the conservation of some of the most important duck breeding habitat on the continent.

Can a shooting competition actually make you a better hunter?

We headed to the NRL Hunter Match in Belt, Montana, to find out. From building stable shooting positions to managing the clock and making shots from awkward terrain, every stage challenged us in ways that felt a lot like real hunting.

We definitely had our wins... and a few humbling moments. But every mistake came with a lesson that will make us better in the field this fall.
