Fuel matters when the pace doesn’t stop. 🔥

During the @hobo.forge.survival Skills Event, days were packed from sunup to sundown — moving, training, building, competing. Eating on the fly was the norm, and that’s where these @rangemealbar came in clutch.

Big thanks to @younggerryyoung (and passed down from @estelawilded ) for putting these in my hands. After putting them to the test over 3 hard days, I can say they hit the mark.

I’m pretty strict about what I put in my body — whole foods, real ingredients, minimal junk. These check a lot of those boxes and actually deliver when you need real fuel, not just empty calories.

Macros (per bar):
• 700 calories
• 36g fat
• 87g carbs (20g fiber)
• 18g protein

High calorie, nutrient-dense, and built for performance when you don’t have time to sit down and eat.

These are definitely getting added to my always-have-on-me loadout.

Train hard. Fuel smart.

Not an episode of Reel Rock depicting a hardcore first ascent. Just a pleasant November day in Central Oregon checking out one of Smith Rock’s more notorious (moderate) multipitch routes; Voyage of the Cowdog (5.8+). While we intended to top out and complete all three pitches of this cruiser sport climb, we ended up tucking tail and rapping back to the ground after pitch 1, in part due to windy and cold conditions up top. Still, a day of outdoor climbing in the sun in November is a win in our books!

Nestled into the Stuart range, just outside the Bavarian town of Leavenworth, WA lies a whimsical thru hike known as “The Enchantments.” Often done as a multi-day backpacking trip, this route ushers adventurers 20 miles, and 5000 vertical feet through some of the more scenic alpine terrain in Washington State. Join Zach and Meg as they do the route in a single day push. Along the way, they’ll bump into some horned ungulates, enjoy several alpine plunges, and ask more than once, “why do we do this?!”

Full episode on the Range YouTube channel! Keep an eye out for more Type II (Fun) episodes, the first Friday of each month!
