My heart broke into a thousand pieces today as we had to say goodbye to Roscoe Roo!

He was a legend, he was a barking pain in the ass, he was a truck chaser (equal hater of all delivery trucks and golf carts), he was not a ball chaser, though he loved when you threw balls in the backyard and you chased them, he loved his daddy MAJOR! He loved the dock, the boat, fishing with John and his buddy Lorna, but, he honestly loved life.

He thought every person that came to this house was here for him and demanded that they sit so he could give a quick French kiss. He was a big dog stuck in a little dog’s body with the most amazing posture. I do think he would have made an excellent show dog. But he hated any animals on the screen and would go crazy!

He loved going on car rides with his daddy and loved sitting with me on the dock. He was the smartest little fucker ever and super defiant.

My world got really small today and it will take me a while to snap out of it. He was diagnosed a year ago with liver cancer (it was riddled with tumors) but he was amazing till this past Monday night.

I was looking for a sign that it was okay to let him go and on my way the Jeff Buckley song Last Goodbye came on and that’s all the reassurance I needed.

Well isn’t this rich. Today I got a $500 refund check that apparently is being sent to Americans who used the healthcare.gov platform to purchase their healthcare from a surplus of funds from the Obamacare “premium tax”. How generous can they get, especially since I never signed up for healthcare through that platform. This is another example of the waste this administration has created! They are so full of shit I can’t take it. So what else would I do with this refund I’m not entitled to??? Well donate it to @annieandrewsmd for her campaign to kick win this upcoming election!! I’m sure they’ll be happy to know their money is finally going to a good cause. One might call this a bribe?? Do better republicans and stop wasting our money. *****UPDATE!!! Here I am, another year older, maybe not wiser. It’s been a long couple of years and sometimes the challenges outweigh the good, but that’s life. I’m grateful for my family, and my friends that keep me going. I am incredibly grateful for my FAB family comprised of the most bad assed women in the food + beverage industry who keep me inspired on a daily basis. The people in this industry are the most hard working, humble humans alive. I’ve had the privilege of spending the last 2 years attending @southernsmokefoundation to witness first hand the dedication they have for this industry. This is what fuels me to continue doing what I can to support this community. Thanks for all the wishes- but my wish is for people to treat one another with the same dignity and respect you would expect. My hope is for this country to level the fuck out and stop with all the bullshit that’s taking place. by @ranwein

Simple Sunday and everyday message- if you see someone or know someone that needs something - don’t ask, just do. Even a text to check on that person would mean a lot. Today would have been my dad’s 94th birthday. Had to believe he’s been gone 30 years, 31 in January. My dad loved to play piano and ironically tonight, at the jazz show we’re 4 different and amazing pianists. He would have loved this show. This pic was taken as I celebrated my first anniversary with my ex husband. My mom brought the top of the wedding cake down from NY where we got married. It was a happy time and both my parents were smiling and laughing together, which was a rarity. I truly miss my dad daily. Tonight’s show was the perfect celebration to honor him. 💙💙 by @ranwein

This is such bullshit. This administration is so obsessed with women being married and staying at home like a good little homemaker. Let people choose how they want to live life. And wow-they plan on giving a whopping $9k per child stipend. That’s going to make a real impact on their life. Let’s not forget this administration couldn’t care less about services once babies are born. This also applies ONLY to married couples. And I’m pretty sure they also mean ONLY heterosexual. Everyday something else surrounding religion- so sick of this crap. by @ranwein

It’s been a moment since I’ve voiced my frustrations with this administration and the WTF in general.

I think I’ll just go with bullet points:
- The Epstein Files hello!!!
- Taking down the painting by Kehinde Wiley because this administration deemed it “woke” - one of their favorite words
- The threat to bulldoze the Kennedy Center because he can’t get his name on the building
- Supporting Lindsey Graham’s sister because he thinks this is a legacy position- talk about DEI (that they also hate so much) she knows nothing about politics and it’s embarrassing that they selected her to possibly lead South Carolina. It’s like they just don’t give a shit about their own state
- The idiocy or having race cars zooming around the capital is just another joke after hosting a cage fight
- Lying about the damage done to the reflection pool and it all being his fault
- Spending billions on the ballroom that nobody asked for- as well as the helicopter pad, arch, drone pad, gilding all the statues around DC - enough already- it’s not your house
- The war!!! And no way out and no plan
- The firing of top level military personnel that understand how wars work and not advancing women or anyone of color
- The fucking tariffs
- Unfriending Canada! Like what!
- The lying, the constant lying!
- The stupidity of his base
- Todd Blanche - scum of the earth
- The Supreme Court - bought and paid for
- The whitewashing of this country because it doesn’t fit in the world you want
- The money he and his family have made while him being in charge is despicable
- The way every part of our country is for sale as long as he gets a piece of it
- The pardons!!
- Voter intimidation (even the heritage foundation found that there was negligible evidence)
- ICE just manhandling, killing and profiling people
- The overlap of church and state - hate to break it to you- this is NOT a Christian country
- And now today- the ever important issue of name changing Lake Ontario (which will always remain Lake Ontario) ridiculous as usual by @ranwein

I got home yesterday to yet another act of kindness to honor Roscoe Roo! I can’t thank Tiff @urquh.art enough for capturing Roscoe in full color. It wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of @liz.einhorn @madisonalpern @ksitrin @axtran @gvecchio @jennymcgoody @elizabethmeltz @natalialeporehagan @chefwelch @hurricane_christa @codib @emblexx @annaraym - all whom I met through FAB! Once again I’m speechless of all those that have painted, and commissioned art of Roscoe. He is a legend that brought so much joy to us and others. He has that look in his eyes like he’s ready for the next big adventure. Thank you all. One month without him and will never be forgotten 💜💜💜 by @ranwein

Magical night at Red Rocks seeing Lucas Nelson as the warm up and @tedeschitrucksband with special guest of @theblackcrowes - what a venue, what a show! Derek Trucks is a mind blowing guitarist and Susan is most definitely his equivalent! He voice is soul soothing! by @ranwein
