The clothes promise to tell you who you are. The mirror shows you what’s left.Fade Out Label’s installation You Are What You Wear turns the fashion industry back on itself: a critique of consumerism that manages to be cruel and funny in the same gesture. Built from reflection and mirrored images, the work is literal and physical as an object, abstract and surreal as an image: on one side the living body, on the other the dead shell it wears.
