Two Grammys. 1992. 🏆🏆
Best Rap Single – *“Tennessee”*
Best New Artist.

No blueprint. No permission. Just vision.

We blended melody with bars before it had a name.
We spoke on loss, pain, and real life when vulnerability wasn’t “cool.”
We stood together—women and men—in one rap group.
And we carried Atlanta on our backs before the spotlight ever hit the city.

The Grammys may not hold the same weight today…
but in that era? It was everything.
And we changed the game doing it our way. 🔥 #arresteddevelopment #hiphop #tennessee #lifemusic by @rasadon

Seeing Smoove experience Arrested Development for the first time is a beautiful reminder: our music was always deeper - spiritual, lyrical, intentional - even from the first single. True expression goes beyond trends. It reaches the soul. Art (even popular music) must be allowed to go deeper than booty shaking, pills & gang banging. Shout out to @jjboogie for finding this one. ADtheBand.com for all our gems and tour dates! #lifeMusic by @rasadon

Folks see the finished portraits, but they don’t see the hours spent practicing—shooting with friends, trying new setups, and letting the whole process get smoother every time. That’s the part I love because I do it with friends and who doesn’t like hanging out with their friends?!?

Those relaxed sessions with my people are where I work out the kinks, chase the light, try ideas and get comfortable enough that when it’s a job, things move fluid and effortless. The final images come later. The craft gets built in the studio, laughing and experimenting with friends who are down to make pictures just for the sake of making them.

Kebbi Williams is a sax player with the band, Tedeschi Trucks Band. Rasa Don was the drummer with the group, Arrested Development. I had both over because they didn’t know each other and I felt they should.
