Been awhile was not much of a winter. We got hit with some serious rain in late January. My basement apartment got some water in it. When investigating what happen I could see to trail of debris. The once lovely city of Hood River let the neighboring lot build the new house way above grade. Put a retaining wall in to raise the yard and cut the curb for the new driveway. The rain went over the cut curb and a river of rain was funneled to my fountain. Some water got into the basement apartment.

When I went to the city they said they would look at it. I never heard anything from them.
Nor did I wait. I started digging a French drain. Dug two of them side by side.
Then a friend loaned me a backhoe I moved dirt. Then a friend loaned me a trailer. Got loads of rock. Built three terraced walls, a raised garden and believe the water drainage should be taken care of.

My apartment renter bought a house. He had been renting from me for more than ten years.
He was out March 11th and I’ve been working hard. Just signed a lease today. Just one more project to finish. A barn door slider to the bedroom. by @ratsbatscrap

1-18-26 enjoying the sunshine in the temperature inversion @ Mt Hood Meadows.
Nice up here temperatures are comfortable and the sun is warm.

Nothing like mushroom seasons. It has not been a normal one however still a good one. When trick or treating in the woods for a fiends Halloween/birthday. I learned some new mushrooms from him. The Halloween loot; Chanterelle, Cauliflower and a new one for me Shaggymain!
Then yesterday after the rain stopped it was time for some exercise and came back with a large amount of shaggy mains!
Then today went for a mt bike ride. One chanterelle and the mother load is Shaggy mains! Love the Pacific Northwest and learning of some prized treasures it holds! by @ratsbatscrap

With the trails still closed for fire danger my routine hike is anout half way up to the top of a winery’s property. I do it twice don’t know why but the second lap up mentally is tough.
As I was on my way down almost to my house there was a parade of turkeys leave my yard! by @ratsbatscrap

Thank you for the birthday wishes. That is a wrap, 56 laps around the sun. As we all continuously keep orbiting the sun. It’s not a race 365 days per lap. No matter how you do it. Can do as much or little as you like.
I got my helium balloon and I’m trying to fly! by @ratsbatscrap

Happy Easter,
I’m on the hunt for a 2012, 13 or 14 alloy specialized sumpjumper 29er. Broke the bottom of my suspension frame.

March 2023 scheduled 1st class med. June 2nd 2023 had 1st class medical. Nov. 2023 FAA responded with request. CAT scan, neurologist evaluation, neurophysiology exam.
In April of 2024 all information was submitted to the FAA. I’m November 2024 the FAA gave me clearance to obtain my first class medical no special issuances.
December 2024 passed the first class medical.
Finally in January 2025 started the biannual flight review. The weather was good. Hood River’s airport had a Cessna 150 on the rental fleet. My friend and instructor Doug got ourselves into the c-150.
Yesterday January 19th 2025. I am a current pilot again. Last time I flew a plane was 2-27-2009. 16 years! I am back. Still have to dial in my skills. Train for an instrument proficiency check.
I am very happy to have made it back this far.
It is a great way to start 2025!
