I’ve waited a long time to post on this day.
(Yesterday 🫠)

For twelve years, National Daughter’s Day stung. I watched everyone share beautiful photos with their daughters, while all I had to share was a tiny hand and footprint in clay.

I’ve always felt like a girl mom, and I was so proud to carry Lark for those five months.

After all those years of imagining what it would feel like, there really are no words for the miracle of finally holding my girl. by @raulserpas

Happy Birthday to this beautiful human I get to call my wife.

Amanda, you enrich every single space you walk into.

You are the absolute best Mom to our boys; they adore and admire you.

You speak life into people when they most need it.

You embody love, sacrifice, perseverance, grit, resilience, and reflect Jesus’s image in everything you do.

The future is beyond exciting because we get to create it together, and I am infinitely grateful for you.

Te amo. by @raulserpas

TOMORROW!

“I spent 30 years preparing to be a director… and by the time I was ready, I wondered if I’d missed my chance.”
Jay Holben (@jayholben )has worked every job on set — actor, gaffer, cinematographer, writer — all to become a better director and educator.

In tomorrow’s episode, he opens up about the setbacks that nearly broke him, the lessons no one teaches you, and why learning how to lead, communicate, and keep going might be more important than talent.

This one is raw, honest, and packed with wisdom for any filmmaker who’s ever felt behind, burned out, or like they’re still not “there yet.”

Full Episode drops tomorrow. taken in Los Angeles, California by @raulserpas

Every frame carries a life behind it.
Every story is a mirror of where we’ve been.
John Simmons, ASC, reminds us that great art isn’t made by chasing moments,
It’s made by being present enough to receive them.

I was listening to @adamgrant talk about potential.
He said something along the lines of:
“We don’t regret what we try and fail. We regret what we never attempt.”

One of my fears in life is “what if I don’t live up to my potential?”

Our potential isn’t just a gift, it’s a responsibility.
What happens when we leave our potential unused?
What do we miss out on becoming?

I think that fear is there to help me when I feel stuck waiting, second-guessing, or stuck in overthinking. by @raulserpas
