Aujourd’hui, nous disons au revoir à deux précieuses RAW Amazones, Fatima (@fbrsy ) et Filly (@fillydabo ), qui quittent l’équipe pour faire leur transition vers de nouvelles aventures après plusieurs années à nos côtés. Au fil des années, elles ont apporté à RAW leur savoir, leurs pensées, leurs expertises et leurs regards, contribuant à nourrir notre travail curatorial et, plus largement, la vie de notre communauté. Mais au-delà de leur travail, ce sont aussi les petites choses qui nous manqueront : la bonne humeur matinale de Fatima et son rire contagieux, ou encore Filly, notre fashionista toujours impeccable, qui a su apporter son style autant que ses idées à RAW. Merci à toutes les deux pour ces années ensemble, pour les conversations, les réflexions, les projets, les questionnements et tous les moments partagés. Votre présence et vos contributions ont profondément marqué la maison. Vous allez beaucoup nous manquer, mais heureusement, ce n’est pas vraiment un au revoir. La collaboration continue et comme on dit à RAW : once a RAW Amazone, always a RAW Amazone. #RAWBookDrop 📚 We’re happy to be back after our rainy season break, and there’s plenty to discover at RAW. As we settle back into our rhythm, we’re pleased to share a selection of titles currently available in the RAW Base. From photography and migration to football, race, and visual culture, these publications offer different perspectives and points of entry into ongoing conversations across art, society, and contemporary culture. Thank you to @eva.diallo for generously donating Bolol, her long-form photography project tracing the overland migration routes from Africa to Europe. Following journeys through Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger and across West Africa, Diallo works at the boundary of art and documentary, using a poetics of fragment and detail to resist the hasty consumption of images so often produced around migration. Essential reading for researchers working across photography, migration studies, and visual culture. We also welcome Are We Allowed to Just Dream?, published by @_ladderboyz , a celebration of Black footballers and the often overlooked and under-documented moments and individuals that have shaped the game. Structured across five chapters covering beauty, gift, imagination, action, and celebration, the book asks hard questions about racism, institutional failure, and what it means to dream under pressure. A rich resource for those working at the intersection of sport, race, and visual culture. Both titles are now available in the library. RAW Material Company is now open Tuesday to Friday, 11am–6pm. Within 'In Minor Keys' at the 61st Venice Biennale, four institutions are gathered under the designation of Schools: @gasfoundation, @raw.gram2011, @blaxtarlines and @ncai254. En attendant que nous puissions tous·tes, nous retrouver à la rentrée, nous nous sommes employées à rendre disponible sur nos différentes plateformes, toutes les conversations du programme Politique Culturelle qui ont eu lieu ces derniers mois, rue sans soleil. Aussi, nous vous avons concocté une petite playlist regroupant ses temps forts, qui nous ont permis ensemble de pousser nos réflexions et de repenser notre façon de faire société. En début d’année, RAW a choisi de ralentir, non pas pour faire moins, mais pour avancer avec plus de justesse, de soin et de durabilité. Cette année a été riche en rencontres, en conversations, en collaborations, et marquée par la participation de toute l’équipe à la 61e Biennale de Venise, pensée par Koyo et portée par son équipe curatoriale. Dans cette même dynamique, nous avons vécu notre retraite annuelle autrement : en restant à RAW pour prendre le temps d’évaluer, d’écouter, de réfléchir et de préparer la suite. Ce temps de recentrage touche désormais à sa fin. Dès septembre, RAW reprendra un nouveau rythme, porté par de nouveaux programmes, publications et collaborations que nous avons hâte de partager avec vous. Merci aux #RAWAmazones et à toute la #RAWFamily pour votre confiance et votre présence. Comme chaque année, RAW Material Company fera une pause pendant la saison des pluies, du 17 juillet au 08 septembre 2026 inclus. Retour en images sur le programme Politique Culturelle du 2 juillet 2026 à RAW Material Company. La soirée a marqué la clôture de cette première saison de Politique Culturelle avec une rencontre consacrée au cinéma sénégalais, à son héritage, ses enjeux contemporains et son rôle dans la construction des imaginaires culturels. Réunissant Angèle Diabang (@angelediabang ), Souleymane Kébé (@souley_mane_kebe ) et Clarence Thomas Delgado, sous la modération de Aboubacar Demba Cissokho (@kibilidembacissokho ), les échanges ont exploré la place singulière du cinéma sénégalais dans l’histoire du cinéma africain, son dialogue de longue date avec le FESPACO, ainsi que les défis et les perspectives qui façonnent son avenir. À travers leurs expériences et leurs réflexions, les intervenant·es ont interrogé le cinéma comme un espace de recherche, de transmission et de souveraineté culturelle, où les images deviennent des archives vivantes et où le récit participe à imaginer de nouveaux possibles. Recap from Basel -to receive the inaugural Art Basel-Koyo Kouoh fellowship. I am thankful for the multiplicity of generosities and kindnesses that have made it possible for me to embark on this journey, thankful to my family and friends, thankful to the amazing @artbasel team. And I am doubly thankful to my @raw.gram2011 family, my sisters, my Amazons. The news of this award, came at the most provident time, and it buoyed me. Honoured to walk an ancestral journey as laid out by the great Koyo Kouoh, my hero, who has shown us that where there is hope, there is possibility and therefore there is work to be done. Honoured to do this work alongside my extraordinary colleagues, my teachers, my peers, my sisters, my elders- in Abuja, Abidjan, Kaduna, Dakar, Paris, Florianopolis, Jos, Barcelona, Liverpool, Lagos, Accra, Marrakech, Badagry, Uyo, Houston, Kano, Saint Louis, Benin, Kumasi, Bangalore, Beirut, NYC, Yaounde, Berlin, Valencia, Abu Dhabi, Kano, Niamey, Yola, everywhere, and now Basel. It is no joke that if we want to go far, we must go together. As for my experience in Basel, it can only be experienced and words fail me at this point- all I can say is “Only One Basel” for real! Pour clore cette saison Politique Culturelle de RAW, nous avons le plaisir de vous inviter à une dernière rencontre autour du cinéma sénégalais ce jeudi 2 juillet à partir de 17h à RAW Material Company. Une conversation autour du cinéma sénégalais avec Angèle Diabang (@angelediabang ), Souleymane Kébé (@souley_mane_kebe ) et Clarence Thomas Delgado, modérée par Aboubacar Demba Cissokho (@kibilidembacissokho ). Au Sénégal, le cinéma, en tant que septième art, constitue un espace où se pensent l’histoire, la mémoire et les aspirations à la liberté, de génération en génération. De sa contribution fondatrice au cinéma africain à son dialogue constant avec le FESPACO, le cinéma sénégalais a façonné un langage qui dépasse la représentation, ancré dans la recherche, la transmission et la souveraineté culturelle. Sa présence pérenne au sein du festival témoigne non seulement d’un héritage artistique, mais également d’un engagement inaltérable envers le cinéma comme pratique de connaissance. Congratulations to our Curator of Programs, Filly Gueye (@fillydabo ), for her selection to the Glasgow International Festival of Contemporary Art 2026 (@gifestival ) ! This Delegate Programme was supported by the British Council (@britishcouncilsenegal ). Filly shared RAW’s vision and practices and the unfolding of her curatorial practice during the Scottish Contemporary Art Network Event on Friday June 5th.  The trip was an incredible opportunity to explore Glasgow’s vibrant art ecosystem with a visit to Cove Park (@cove_park ) felt especially meaningful, as it is a place that had previously welcomed fellow RAW Amazones, Fatima Bintou Rassoul SY (@fbrsy ) and Dulcie Abrahams Altass in 2021. It was great encountering familiar faces from the extended RAW family, including Alberta Whittle (@purebred.mongrel ) Fellows of the RAW Académie Session 4 Corpus Callosum. A truly inspiring exchange of knowledge and care! ✨ GI brings together work by over 60 artists, presented across 32 venues throughout the city. The festival is a collaborative undertaking, with projects developed by artists, curators, organisers, independent spaces across the city, and the GI festival team.
