The drone shows in Barceloneta never cease to amaze me. I feel like a little girl again every time I get to see one.

This has been one of the hardest years I’ve had living abroad, and there have been so many times when I’ve questioned why the hell I’m fighting so hard to stay here.

Then you spend a day taking in La Mercè, celebrating the magic of Barcelona and Catalan traditions, watching the city come alive, and you have those little moments where you remember why the struggle is all worth it.

For the experiences. For the magic. For the feeling of being somewhere that still makes me stop and look around in awe.

I’ve been thinking a lot about Barcelona lately and I really don’t think there’s anywhere quite like it.

I now get why people chase eclipses. 🌑

I was impatiently waiting for the last beam of sunlight to disappear behind the moon. Then I took my glasses off, saw totality for the first time, and my jaw was on the FLOOR.

1 minute and 22 seconds of pure wonder.

Nothing I love more than visiting a city for the second time and feeling it’s just as amazing, if not even better, than the first time. Fell in love with Amsterdam all over again and met some amazing people (what it’s all about). 🫶🏼

Here’s what I’d recommend for a summer trip to Amsterdam:

🚤 Rent a boat for a few hours and cruise around the canals
🍷 Grab drinks at Café ‘t Smalle or Spanjer en van Twist
🧇 Try Rudi’s Original Stroopwafels at the Albert Cuyp Market.
🥧Indulge in Amsterdam’s best apple pie at De Dakduif
🍁💨 All the coffeeshops, duhhh
☕️ My favorite coffees were from Het Koffiemannetje and Evnia Café
🥞 Get lekkkkerrrr poffertjes at Pat’s Poffertjes
📸 Walk around the canals with your camera
👙 Swim at Roeivereniging RIC if you’re feeling brave
🌳 Stroll around Vondelpark
🚲 Ride bikes around the city

My travel style has definitely changed over the years because food used to be the last thing I cared about, and now it’s what my entire trip revolves around hahaha.

The highlight of my summers in Barcelona used to be exploring every nude beach I could find on Costa Brava with my bestie @aliciagov. We would swim in the sea laughing our asses off, feeling so free. She left me for Bali and it’s just not the same without mi novia 😭. Anyway, here’s a pretty beach that I thoroughly enjoyed. Clothed🏖️

We spend so much of our lives rushing from one thing to the next, caught up in the noise of everyday life. Then we stop for a sunset and realize this is what life is really about.
