First week of that college life filled with team meetings/outings, workouts and of course classes… Days are alot longer and nights a lot shorter but keep grinding my boi and enjoy the process #ProudPops taken in Sac State University by @raymond_f_ene

AFTER STARTING & CONTRIBUTING ON BOTH SIDES OF THE BALL IN 50 VARSITY FOOTBALL GAMES….

Last night marked the end of an era 🥹 I’ve thought about this day for a long time (years), and I still can’t articulate all the feelings that come with watching your kid play their final HS football game - win or lose. There has never been a doubt in my mind that any time Zay straps on a helmet, he’s hands down the best player on the field. He holds countless school records - in the weight room & on the field. He is a leader in every sense of the word. He is the best teammate anyone could ever ask for, he is a coach favorite because he works hard & he does whatever is asked of him without hesitation; parents love him because he makes their player feel important & helps them learn whether they play every down or never play a snap. Opponents respect him.

The one thing that has been universally said about Zay throughout the years is this - “as good as he is a football player, he’s an even better human.” We have always told him that when it’s all said & done, nobody will remember your stats….but they will remember the way you treated them. I’m glad this is something that sunk in with him very early on & he still holds on to this today at his big old age of almost 18.

Thank you Granite Bay, and more specifically Coach Catt and your staff, for taking care of our baby for the last 4 years. It was never about football; you helped reinforce the values we try to instill in him at home and that means more to us than anything else.

As Zay nears the end of his HS chapter (in roughly 3wks 🥹😭), he will begin the next chapter at Sac State 🐝 I know he is ready for the challenge & I have no doubt he will continue along whatever path God lays ahead of him.
