It has been a week since I made and delivered this cake from Cambridge to Kent. I made the 3 cakes plus 24 plant based cupcakes. The 3 tier cake was stacked and set up at the venue, and I felt very relaxed and confident doing it. This is a testament to how much I have grown through experience since starting Bakes of Ray in October 2021.

I've learned to accept that things don't always turn out exactly how I want it to and embrace different creative directions a cake may take when this happens. Flaws end up becoming character. Mishaps become uniqueness. Within that, I learned to keep going and manage my emotions and the need to be somewhere I'm not quite yet. 🙏🏼

There are still lots of areas I need to practice and get better in, but I'm no where near to where I used to be and I thank God for every learning experience I've had and the support of mentors and other cake makers that have guided me along my journey.

Had a wonderful weekend. Sang with my big sis @mariapitan, made a 3 tier cake and cupcakes @bakesofray for a 50th wedding anniversary party and had a wonderful time of celebrating. God is good!

Yep! Accepting myself with all my flaws is a big step to take as a human but receiving the truth that Jesus loves me with all of my flaws is my biggest lesson, which I have to be reminded of every time I fall. Jesus will keep me, He with catch me and He will hold me still. #yesjesuslovesme #free #salvation by @rayofsorayaness

I must show honour where honour is due, this woman right here, my sister in Christ, @mjpraise is an awesome minister in music. Her voice is incredible. She writes amazing songs and she has a beautiful and kind spirit. It was such a joy to be one of her backing vocalists this weekend.

Sis @jeminwadike hosted the event and sang wonderfully.

God bless you both.

Whilst I was taking this selfie, my first customer walked through the door to buy my cakes. This is the look of genuine joy! Joy looks good on me, imagine how much it'll look on you. Smile and smile some more, let's start a smile chain. 😃

I had a wonderful time in Gillingham, singing with the gospel band led by @mjpraise. I reunited with so many people that I hadn't seen since I moved to Cambridge, including @wecansinguk led by @karenreevestoppin. Also doing backing vocals for Segun Praise and ministering solo, as Soraya Ray. God is good and God is faithful. taken in Gillingham, Medway by @rayofsorayaness

It's been a while since I've made myself one of these. I remember during lockdown learning how to make cappuccino. So easy and very satisfying too. Now I think I'm going to be awake for the whole night now 👀 ☕️ 😆

Happy to have my hair back to the usual after a two month hair break. Now it'll be on a mini twist break. I like the low maintenance hairstyles.
