Exploring Oakland, one neighborhood at a time! 🌳

Next stop: The Laurel District 📍

The Laurel is one of those neighborhoods that has a little bit of everything. Historic charm, great local eats, small businesses, and a strong sense of community.

From the shops and restaurants along MacArthur Boulevard to the surrounding residential streets, there’s so much to appreciate about this part of Oakland.

One of my favorite things about this series is getting to explore different neighborhoods, meet the people behind the local businesses, and share what makes each community special.

After helping 200+ families buy and sell homes, real estate can still throw you a curveball. 😮‍💨

Not every sale is easy. Not every transaction follows the same playbook.

We originally met when they purchased a home from one of our sellers. The home needed A LOT of love. Fast forward a few months they completely transformed it and trusted us to bring it back to market.

✨ Full renovation
🎥 Marketing was on point
🏡 The home showed beautifully
📆 The strategy and timeline were set

We thought, this one should be easy.

The universe said, “Cute. Try again.” 😂

In less than 4 weeks, we went through THREE cancellations. The appraisal came in significantly below value despite supporting comps. Then 2 Buyers got cold feet. None of it was something we could control.

But what we could control was how we responded.

We kept marketing. Kept communicating. Kept advocating for our seller. Kept putting the deal back together.

And finally… we found our buyer. 🙌🏽

This transaction was a reminder that a great agent isn’t just there when everything goes according to plan. It’s how you navigate the curveballs, protect your client, pivot when necessary, and keep moving toward the finish line.

200+ homes later, and I’m still learning something from every single transaction. Thank you to our sellers for trusting us with this beauty.

Starting a new series exploring different neighborhoods and cities throughout the East Bay, starting right here in Oakland.

First stop: Old Oakland.

Not really sure what this video turned into lol. Somehow it became me walking around the Old Oakland Farmers’ Market interviewing strangers with an ear of corn as a microphone. Honestly, I’m not mad at it.

Got to meet @kisjuice and hear the story behind how she got into juicing. Super cool story, and the juice was fire.

We met way too many people to tag everybody, and if I posted everything, this easily could’ve been a 15–20 minute video. But that’s kinda what made it fun. @flwretstudio

Highly recommend checking out the Old Oakland Farmers’ Market on Fridays. Old Oakland itself is a dope neighborhood with a ton of history, beautiful architecture, good food, local businesses, and plenty to explore.

Also had to cut @michaela.to part because she started plugging her real estate business lol. But she’s a great agent, and there’s no shortage of great agents in the Bay. If I’m not the right fit, maybe Michaela is lol

One neighborhood down. A whole lot more of the East Bay to go.

Outside Lands 2026

Easily one of the best weekends ever. Incredible performances, amazing food, great vibes, and getting to experience it all with some of my best friends.

And somehow got hooked up with free VIP passes from @teremana this year, which made the whole weekend even crazier. Huge shoutout to them for taking care of us. VIP was sick.

Good music, good food, great people, and an unforgettable weekend.
