Tryka Pro solo Summer race 4🥇

Got the job done after a looooonnngg day on MC duties and that sled pull was no joke, felt like 225kg+ 😅

Some absolute animals out there on the irish fitness racing scene. A pleasure to go up against them but looking forward to finally having a break and pulling back for now…

Woohoo! My 1st FIRST in open, absolutely chuffed! Only 15 seconds separating the 3 of us 😅

Tough bloody race, wasn’t happy with my time, but at the end of the day, it’s all about giving it everything on the day and hopefully getting on that podium 🥇

@jsnbrsc 🇨🇦 I’m so sorry man, 3 seconds in it and so late in the day to drop to 2nd 🙈 Well done man and see you again some time no doubt 👏🏼

What a great weekend at Hyrox Dublin, not just because of the results (1st in Pro Single, 2nd in Open Doubles and qualifying for the World Championships) but the atmosphere and event itself was amazing.
Fair play to @hyroxuk for stepping up and making some big improvements compared to last year at the RDS and put on one of the best races to date.
Ireland needs a bigger venue though, we’re behind most of Europe!

Thank you to EVERYONE that gave me a shout at the venue over the weekend or even sent me a message on Instagram, honestly the support had been unbelievable.

Dani & Riya (who kept her fingers crossed for me for the whole weekend), love you both ❤️

@jakedearden_ we did it man, finally got that long overdue no.1 flag and to do it in PRO 🤯 thank you as always 🫡

@hajeel_ at @effortlessmovementnmt who made me race ready. I wouldn’t have made this weekend if it wasn’t for him sorting out my hamstring issue I had leading up to this

@brianohaonghusa who has been working on my nutrition the last few weeks, made some changes to my diet and obviously worked 😅

Mick Daly at @anatomic__fitness (my doubles partner today) what an animal. The guy motivates so many people and even though he was sick the last few days, still turned up as he didn’t want to let me down which he wouldn’t have anyway. Pushed me hard on my runs which is exactly what was needed. Thanks man, worked really well.

Lastly, my man @sean_noble7, what a result (AG World Record) after the last few weeks he has gone through. Proved to everyone, including Hyrox, he is the real deal and what all his friends already knew. The Elite 15 is on the cards, it was always going to be when rather than if he would make it 🤝

1st in AG and 2nd overall in all age groups for Men’s PRO 🥹

Pleasure to be a part of Tryka as both MC and also competing at that level, thank you to the community for all the shouts at every race.
Not gonna lie, it’s tough being on your feet all weekend then racing but I give it my all so delighted with the results.

That’s me done for pro, going back to open in Series 2…😅

Couch to TRYKA! 800m Solo confirmed 😬

Part 1 with @rayshah showing me the ropes in @westwoodclub Clontarf and teaching me how to tackle the different stations for @tryka.fit !

I’m not going to lie, I’m incredibly nervous about this one. It’s a massive challenge for me, and I’ve still got a lot of work to do over the next few weeks.

But sure, that’s the whole point of this page. Getting out of my comfort zone, giving things a go and seeing what happens!

Plenty of work ahead, but I’m here to try! 💪

1st place, delighted with that, 58:50.

I was dreading racing after 10 hours on my feet as MC but even though it was tough, I actually felt like I had a 2nd gear, the 1st time since Warsaw in April.

Thanks Eoghan & David for a great race, life in the aul dogs yet and always fun beating the younger fellas 😅🎉🥳

Thanks to the @shuzgroup for the invite to check out their @asicsrunning store on O’Connell Street with a super bunch of like-minded people 💪

Great morning and a quality insight into running thanks to @cokeeffe from @altarfuel.

Not only that, they did my gait analysis and the recommendation was the ASICS Gel-Kayano 33 to help with stability and will be my every day gym runner for training in.

I have my Sketchers, the Shuzgroup sorted out for me, as my race day runner for Hyrox & Tryka 😅 by @rayshah

It actually felt like being home today. I was asked to cover @dublinsq102, the station I helped launch 22 years ago and got my first presenting job 🥰 but I haven’t been in Q in about 15 years.

It has also been 2 years since I’ve done any live radio (so of course a bit apprehensive) but it was nothing to fear, like riding a bike 😜

Hopefully more to come, thanks to Mark & Phil for getting me in and Liam Coburn & Stephen Daly for giving me a crash course how to work the desk and be a radio presenter again 🤣 by @rayshah
