Happy 1 year anniversary to the love of my life! I’m so excited to spend the rest of my life with you!

Okay but seriously. I wanted to share because 1. This is the real, raw reality of what I’m going through and 2. If this helps even 1 single person than, it’s so worth it.

Thank you to my husband for loving me so big through all of this. & thank you to my family and friends for making this experience such a good one. I will forever look back on this moment as a good memory in a sea of so much hardship and bad memories, so I’m so grateful for that.

Thank you to all the people who have continued to send thoughts, love and prayers throughout this. I love you all ♥️

Yesterday I asked the love of my life to marry me. I could go on forever about all that you mean to me. But simply, you are my person. You make me better in every way possible and you are the most beautiful person, inside and out, that I’ve ever met.

I remember reading not long ago that one of the best life hacks was to find a partner. Someone that supports you and encourages you.

I didn’t quite understand it when I read it then but I do now. In the past year I’ve changed my life completely and I wouldn’t have been able to do it without you. You make me feel safe to take chances. You encourage me every day. And I can’t be grateful enough or thank you enough for just being you.

You put up with my crazy adventures. Even when I make you bike 12 miles in 100 degree heat.

I can even take you to a @matt.brux and @neeecoleee baby shower and the crew (mainly @kattozzi) doesn’t make fun of me endlessly for it

You’re close to having your coaching license with all the help you’ve given me setting up sessions while I crutch around and filming for me and @theadamdonaldson @bmaaaaac @coorscam

You keep me on my toes, especially when you try to sit on my knee after surgery. You can be a tornado of accidental destruction.

But most of all you’re the kindest, most caring and loyal person I’ve ever met.

I’ve started working out at F45. I hate working out alone, it takes a lot of mental energy to come up with my workouts, and since I can’t play right now Bc of my knee I miss the camaraderie of sports...a lot. Shoot I miss getting into workouts with @matt.brux @bruxykat @lancenelson7 @brettsah @a_b_rocky and being told what to do.
#f45tallymidtown has been amazing for me. All I have to do is show up, workout, get yelled out, beat @kaycipaige_f45 score and I’ve met someone awesome people doing it @j__vick @jasonloy_ @logan_deloge

“What you are seeing in the video where a police officer kneels on the neck of a black man crying for air, what is happening in a video where a black man is strangled to death over selling cigarettes on the street, what has been occurring in my county where Latinos are targeted with ticky-tack traffic violations so they can be detained and then deported, is a betrayal of that compact. It’s a heinous violation of the rights of human beings.

Right here. Within your borders. Filmed for you to watch on your television or phone.

It is essential that you see it this way. Because when you do, you realize that this affects you, it affects everyone. Directly. Urgently.

Black. White. Rich. Poor. Young. Old. Republican. Democrat. Socialist. Idiot. If that’s threatened for one person, it’s threatened for all people.

I’ll say it again: Not being extrajudicially murdered is not a privilege, it’s not an “exception,” it’s more than a tragedy. To try to categorize it as those things is to woefully fail to describe the injustice that is being done in modern America (and elsewhere). Callous indifference to suffering by the authorities towards minorities or the poor or the voiceless is not just a lamentable fact of modern life, it’s an active crime.

In real life, Lincoln said that if slavery is not wrong, then nothing is wrong. If kneeling on an unarmed, compliant man’s neck for nine minutes is not wrong, nothing is wrong. If chasing down someone you think was maybe breaking into a house (not your house, even) and then blowing them apart with a shotgun in broad daylight is not wrong, nothing is wrong. If putting children in cages is not wrong, nothing is wrong. Even if those were the only examples ever, that would be important. That in and of itself would suffice as a major issue that would need to be addressed, before it got worse.

But of course, they are not the only examples.

The moral imperative to do something about it is ancient. Marcus Aurelius wrote two thousand years ago that “you can also commit an injustice by doing nothing.” The Stoics believed that harm to one was to harm all.
