“Christ’s heart is a steady reality flowing through time. It isn’t as if his heart throbbed for his people when he was on earth but has dissipated now that he is in heaven. It’s not that his heart was flowing forth in a burst of mercy that took him all the way to the cross but has now cooled down, settling back once more into kindly indifference. His heart is as drawn to his people now as ever it was in his incarnate state. And the present manifestation of his heart for his people is his constant interceding on their behalf.” -Dane Ortlund

Portraying Jesus has been a true honor and I can easily say this has been my favorite role. Thank you @theandrewharmon
Some ask, “How can you portray the only perfect person of all time?” Simple, you can’t and there’s a freedom in that as an actor and as a person that’s so refreshing. As I take the stage in this role, I pray that the only thing exuding from my soul is Christ himself. I want people to see and feel his patience, love and compassion. He is the potter, I am the clay.

“Our difficulties draw out a depth of feeling in Christ beyond what we know.” -Dane Ortlund

@shoemakers will be closing its doors after 18 years of serving the Lynchburg community.
I’ve been trying to find the right words because, for me, Shoemakers was never just a job.
I walked through those doors in the fall of 2018, not knowing just how significant that chapter would become. Over the years, I had the opportunity to serve in just about every corner of the restaurant—Host, Bartender, Supervisor, Lead Server, and Banquet Manager.
But the titles were never the most important part.
It was;
the people, the coworkers who became friends and the guests who became familiar faces. The countless weddings, birthdays, celebrations, late nights, difficult shifts, laughs, lessons, and memories that filled those years.
Shoemakers gave me so much more than a paycheck. It taught me how to serve people well, how to lead, how to work hard, how to handle pressure, and how to appreciate the people standing beside me.
And after nearly 8 years, saying goodbye to this place is bittersweet.
I’m incredibly grateful to have been a small part of an 18-year story that impacted so many people in our community @lynchburgliving
To everyone who ever walked through the doors of Shoemakers—thank you.
To everyone I had the privilege of working alongside—thank you.
And to the people who poured their time, energy, and hearts into making Shoemakers what it was—thank you for creating something worth remembering.

I have faith in what God has next for me, praying for those who may not know what’s next. If you have a chance to go before it closes, please do! Be a blessing to those holding down the fort!

“Maria” from West Side Story.

This song is a vocal gymnastic masterpiece!
Your voice is exposed in this song. It requires discipline in many areas; volume, breath, tempo, pitch etc.
Not to mention, how to hold out for the Hight note? Still working on it.

Part two of part one. Very different dynamic and part of the voice. BEWARE of pushing! I have a tendency of doing that to “prove” my vocals. Breath and support, raising the brows and singing over them:)

Credit to God, @dawncaldwellpeterson and @harrykersleysinger give him a like and follow. If you’re looking to start singing, start with the basics and he knows a thing or two:)

The hardest thing for me when it comes to singing specifically is breath control. I always want to blast the note out and ignore everything else. The onset in vocal technique is extremely hard and quite the workout but it works. Breathing before singing?… what a concept. @dawncaldwellpeterson used to ask me all the time, are you taking a breath before you sing… @harrykersleysinger asked the same question…
If you’re like me, take a few seconds before the song to breathe and don’t let all the air out once you sing. If you don’t know anything about the “onset” YouTube it:)
