Father’s Day has always looked a little different for me. I never had a father, but I was lucky enough to have a mom who stepped into both roles without ever giving it a second thought.“There are many ways to talk about why I love my mother, but the best way is just to look at everything she gave up for me.” — Rory GilmoreMy mom was never supposed to do this alone, but somehow she made sure I never felt like I was missing anything. She wasn’t just a single mother — she became a mother of all trades. Protector, provider, encourager, best friend, shoulder to cry on, biggest supporter, and the person who taught me what unconditional love really looks like.Everything I am is because of her. Without my mom, I would not be me. Every strength I have, every dream I chase, every ounce of love I know how to give came from watching her survive, sacrifice, and love so fiercely. So today, on Father’s Day, I celebrate the woman who carried the weight of two people and still somehow made life beautiful for me. I will spend forever trying to thank you for all the roles you played so effortlessly. I hope to be half the mom you are one day! TYJ for giving me you!I love you endlessly, Mommie🤎 by @rcarolinesanchez

happy mother’s day to my rock!if you know me you know my mom is my everything! for the past twenty two years she’s played both parents and she has done it with such grace and love! she is my twin, my best friend, my other half, and my safe space. most parents tell their kids that they are their parent first and their friend second but my mom has been both at the same time since the start. I hope one day I am half the mother she is! my mom is my role model when it comes to all things! she is intelligent, loving, kind, stubborn, hard-headed, and most important beautiful inside and out! anything my mom puts her mind to it gets done no matter what the circumstances or situation is! I love you mommie! by @rcarolinesanchez

my cup overflows!pulse check!! post-grad life has definitely had its ups and downs, but I couldn’t be more grateful. This season has been filled with “not now’s,” “soon’s,” and “see why’s,” and I truly wouldn’t trade any of it. God’s timing has taught me patience, trust, and surrender in ways I never expected. Proverbs 16:9 says, “The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps,” and wow… that verse has come alive for me this year. There were moments I didn’t understand why doors stayed closed, prayers felt unanswered, or plans didn’t unfold the way I imagined. But looking back, I can now see His protection, His preparation, and His purpose in every delay. God’s pathway has been so much greater than anything I could have ever imagined (Isaiah 55:8–9).I’ve learned the importance of community and how life-giving it is to have people you can lean on. Ecclesiastes 4:9–12 reminds us that “two are better than one,” and Matthew 18:20 tells us, “Where two or more are gathered, I will be also”. That has never felt more true. God has shown me that you don’t need the biggest crowd to experience the biggest love and fulfillment—just a few faithful, prayerful people who walk beside you and point you back to Him.Even in the uncertainty, God has been faithful. Even in the waiting, He has been working. Even in the silence, He has been present. My cup truly overflows with gratitude for what He’s done, what He’s doing, and what’s still to come. So thankful for this season, trusting His timing, and excited to see what’s next. by @rcarolinesanchez

happy fourty fourth birthday to this absolute queen!today my best friend, my travel partner, my twin, and most importantly my mom is a year older! (but she truly never ages!) if anyone knows me they know my mom! she truly is my other half, she knows everything about me and most importantly she loves like no other! my mom is selfless (until it comes to sharing sweet tea but if you know my family it makes sense, kidding she shares with me. ), my mom loves every person like her own, my mom never meets a stranger ( if a wall would talk back she’d be friends with it too!) she is the definition of a Christ-like mother. while our situation is not like most she has made it better than most. she raised me to never fear, always love especially Jesus, and most importantly have fun doing it! but anyways in our house everyday is special! everyone tell Jessica “happy birthday”!I love you the mostest, shawty! by @rcarolinesanchez

Nothing in life ever fully prepares us for the weight of things that fall beyond our control—especially when they clash with our deeply held beliefs and convictions. We know that not everyone will ever agree in this world, but we still long for common ground, for a space where life is valued and love prevails.Today broke my heart as I realized that some truly believe murder is an acceptable response when beliefs differ. It reminds me of the day Jesus was crucified—when the crowd chose to free Barabbas, a murderer, instead of Jesus, who was sinless and perfect. No one else will ever be Jesus, but that never gives us the right to take a life. These tragedies are a painful reminder that our world is broken, and it desperately needs redemption. But there is hope. Jesus is coming sooner than we realize. Jesus is waiting to say, “Well done good and faithful servant.” and I know today He said it. This morning in prayer meeting, we learned about 28 graduates from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary who studied while incarcerated in the Mississippi penitentiary. Out of those 28, twenty-four have committed to go across the U.S. to share the Gospel and make disciples among the incarcerated. What a powerful reminder that God is still moving in mighty ways, even in the darkest places. So I have to ask—what’s stopping you from stepping out in faith? The world needs Jesus now more than ever.Maranatha—come, Lord Jesus! by @rcarolinesanchez

13 years ago today, my life changed forever. Thirteen years ago today started like every other but would end in a way I could never have imagined. I was riding a bike down a hill that I had gone down at least thirty times that day except this time I hit a long leaf pinecone flipped over the handlebars and hit head and teeth first on newly paved asphalt. I don’t remember much from that day because of the adrenaline rush and hitting my head but I will never forget how my mom had to look through a bunch of little rocks on the road for my permanent tooth. I injured my front four teeth and one was hit fully out through my gums through my lip and was over thirty yards in front of where I was when we found it. at the dentist one day my mom read a magazine that said if anything happens where a tooth is knocked out soak it in milk and put it back in. but being lactose intolerant we had to resort to other measures, water. my mom put the tooth back in and we headed to the ER. On the way to the ER my mom blacked out while driving from the adrenaline rush and the amount of blood I was losing from almost every single part of my body. I remember vaguely sitting in the front seat crying because I was scared. my mom was unconscious and hit the gas even harder when she blacked out. I was 8 at the time, I had no idea how to drive a car or what to do. In the moment I was full of fear for we were merging back into traffic and all I remember is screaming out, “ God please stop this car.” And it stopped, immediately. We didn’t hit anyone, we didn’t merge back into traffic. we just stopped. The stop was my first large promise I remember of God’s faithfulness. The second followed right after. Our car was stopped in front of a bank and when the car stopped I hit my mouth on the front dash and knocked my tooth back out. I got out of the car and just ran into the bank begging for someone to help my mom. She was all I had and they called 911 and helped me back out to my mom. That is where I met Mr. Paul, he watched the whole thing happened and called his best friend who was a dentist and she told us to come straight to her office. Fear, doubt, and stress have been my guiding factors these past weeks as I prepare to take the MCAT tomorrow. I feel like I’ve felt an eternity of emotions because I let fear control me as I prepare for the biggest test of my life. However today felt different, that fear was there but it just felt like it sat on the back burner instead of being the main course. I have had doubts just like everyone else. I’ve said the words, “ what if I’m not smart enough”, “what if I don’t know enough”, and so much more. but through all my doubts I have friends and family who have said so much more. mom and I were talking the other day because I feared tomorrow, I feared failure, I feared. But why? I feared because I let the devil take over my own doubts. But God tells us to not fear tomorrow for He is with us! While it’s so easy to say oh don’t fear to others when it’s you going through it, it becomes so easy to give up. but my mom reminded me, everything else is just like sprinkles on ice cream. my accomplishments that have led me to where I am today are all just sprinkles but my living for God the main reason! God’s plan is bigger than all my dreams and desires! It’s more vast than I could ever imagine. He has streets of gold waiting for us, why settle for less? I took every single one of these pictures within a ten minute span on my drive home today after dinner and all I could feel was peace, after weeks of doubts! I have always liked a good sunset. But this one was different. It was calming. To me all I could see was a spotlight shining down in front of me my whole drive home. To me it felt like God saying, this is your moment embrace it and don’t look back. I looked back once and it was stormy and dark. This song was playing on the radio as I drove back home and all I heard over and over was there is no fear because I believe, there is no doubt because I’ve seen! so regardless of the outcome either bad or good, I am reminded of his forever presence. and because of his faithfulness I am made whole! I am here because of God! I have just as many others faced my own giants. While I am not David, our trials and tribulations tower over us and we have to be brave just like him. by @rcarolinesanchez
