🌸 Let’s Fight Period Poverty!

HOL Foundation extends heartfelt thanks to Alayna from Karachi Grammar School for conducting an informative session with our students on menstrual hygiene and raising awareness about period poverty.

As part of this initiative, Alayna installed sanitary pad banks in our girls’ and staff washrooms, ensuring easy access to these essential products whenever needed.

We are very thankful to Salitex and Rotary Club of Karachi Sunset Millennium for connecting us and making this possible.

At HOL Foundation, we believe that no girl should have to miss school or compromise her dignity due to a lack of access to menstrual hygiene products.

Why does a pad still come in a brown bag?

That's the question 17-year-old Alayna has been asking for four years.

What began as her passion project, All By Alayna, turned into bags sold at school carnivals. She raised over PKR 100,000 and donated it to girls' education in underprivileged schools.

This time she went further. With the Rotary Club Sunset Millennium of Karachi and Santex (Butterfly), Alayna installed free pad dispensers in the girls' washrooms at The House of Learning, Karachi.

No brown bags. No shame. No girl missing school because she couldn't afford a pad.

As her mother Aisha said, she's always been an empathetic child, but no one knew it would become this.

Periods are natural. Access should be too. 🩸

Breaking taboos and building a measurable, sustainable impact!!

This Saturday, allbyalayna is taking a huge step forward in the fight against period poverty. We are so honored to collaborate with the Rotary Club of Karachi Sunset Millennium and Santex (manufacturers of Butterfly Sanitary Napkins) to install a sanitary napkin dispenser and a supply of products from the funds I’ve collected at the HOL Karabhai Karimjee Government School in Lyari.

With around 150 girls aged 10–16 attending the school, affordable access to period care isn’t just about hygiene—it’s about giving these young girls the confidence, dignity, normalising periods for them and freedom to keep learning without interruption.

During the visit, I’ll also be speaking directly with the girls and mothers in the Lyari community about menstrual health, breaking the silence, and staying healthy in Urdu.

A massive thank you to President Elect Saira Adnan and the Rotary Club of Karachi Sunset Millennium for championing this cause and bringing us into this incredible project, and to Santex for making access a reality.

Together, we are showing our young girls that menstruation is natural and nothing to be ashamed of.

Learning is best when it’s hands-on. 📏✨

At HOL Foundation’s Accelerated Learning Program, our students explored the world of measurement by measuring different objects around their school—turning classrooms and corridors into exciting learning spaces.

For our 250+ out-of-school children, every lesson is a step towards rebuilding confidence, curiosity, and a brighter future through practical, joyful learning.

Sunday morning started with a meaningful walk for a cause. 💚

Today, 80+ of our students participated in the awareness walk, standing together to spread an important message: Together, We Can End Mouth Cancer.

The walk highlighted the importance of prevention, early detection, regular check-ups, saying no to drugs, and choosing a tobacco-free life.

Proud to see our students stepping forward—not just to learn, but to raise their voices for healthier communities. 💜

RCKSM Partners with JPMC to Fight Cancer
In an awe-inspiring display of compassion, Rotary Club of Karachi Sunset Millennium has joined forces with Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre to combat cancer. A spirited cycling group covered an impressive 30 km in support of the cause, accompanied by participants from diverse backgrounds. Our club members, led by the indefatigable Moona Sohail and Sohail Mansoor Japanwala, along with Masroor Peshimam, Saira Shafiq Ahmed, Bina Rashid, Farooq Ahmed, and Kausar Malik, were all recognized for their unwavering efforts in raising cancer awareness.
Mr. Mustaq Chappra, Founder of PAF, highlighted his state-of-the-art cancer treatment facilities and appealed for donations to strengthen this noble initiative.
RCKSM has pledged to raise funds through Global Grant, ensuring that children battling cancer receive free treatment.
