Step into @imyeek’s world in these behind-the-scenes photographs from an exclusive interview 🎶

“It’s always important to share your heritage, too, but always let the art speak for itself because it’s gonna be the gateway to educating people.”

Set against Los Angeles’ Historic Filipino town, Sebastian Carandang, aka Yeek shares his inspirations, musical journey, and philosophy on creating. With projects spanning music, design, and film, Sebastian draws from a wide pool of inspirations, such as Joe Bataan, Sampha, and Spike Jonze. Using music as a way to validate emotions, Yeek builds out an immersive world attached to his music by handling the creative direction for his own merch, music videos, and radio show 💿

@djlove_sherwintuna
London, 2024

I took these photos of Kuya Sherwin on his first trip outside of the Philippines.

I pulled up to link him whilst he was being interviewed by the BBC and them lot ended up asking me to translate for him. Through that I learnt so much about the origins of Budots and Kuya Sherwin’s story.

Afterwards we got dinner and he had his first pint of Guinness. I remember my man just wanted ciggies and Filipino food haha.

Later we ended up chilling in his hotel room whilst he practised for his set at the first Margins United.

My mans coming back soon. @easternmargins @obese.dogma777 let me make a documentary on Kuya pls and thank you 🥹 taken in London, United Kingdom by @rdbrnrdo

AZNs in Hardcore

@gangcalledspeed + @whispershc
at Electric Ballroom
London, 2026

As a Filipino kid that fell in love with punk music bcos of my dad, I always felt like these spaces weren’t for me like I didn’t fit in

I used to vent about how there weren’t enough Asian hardcore bands today. Then I found Speed, saw the steeze them man had, the energy, what they stood for, and reshaping what it means to be Asian in today’s society, I was locked in

Seeing their continuous growth as well as Whispers, their shared beliefs and the space they’re creating for Asians and minorities is beautiful to see. I’ve never seen this many Asian and POC faces in hardcore before

p.s next time someone pattern a press pass pls, some donny dashed water all over me and my camera, luckily it’s blessed for now taken in Electric Ballroom by @rdbrnrdo
