📍🏠 HOME OF THE BOOK-THEMED GUIDED RUN

Read & Run Tours is home of the book-themed guided run, a one-of-kind program that blends fitness, literature, and community!

Guides develop running routes where the story takes place with stops that correspond to the book. Authors are invited to join during or after to build community with readers & runners.

Between Read & Run Tours, Read & Run Chicago, and the Read & Run on the Road programs, over 50 authors have had their books brought to life and connected (often IRL!) with new audiences, including Rebecca Makkai, Ann Napolitano, Naomi Hirahara, and more!

👉 WHERE CAN I ATTEND ONE?

📍Chicago with @readandrunchicago [‘signature events’]
📍D.C. and Seattle via @readandrunontheroad organizers
📍And beyond — stay tuned here!

👉 AUTHORS: Interested in developing a program inspired by your book(s)? Here’s how:

- Apply to host your own Read & Run Tours-like event through the @readandrunontheroad program

- Hire Read & Run Tours to plan and host an event inspired by your book

- Chicagoland area authors/books visit @readandrunchicago to pitch your book for consideration!

👉 RUNNERS: Want to host your own?

Read & Run on the Road, explained ✨👟

Hi, I’m Allison! 👋 I’m the founder of Read & Run Tours, home of the book-themed guided run where stories take place.

Did you know that Read & Run Tours has a program called Read & Run on the Road?

Read & Run on the Road is a program of independently-organized events under a license from Read & Run Tours.

This means that the coolest humans ever (runners who love books?! Yes!) from around the country get to host events with book-themed guided runs where the story takes place, followed by author Q&As, lectures, or book discussions.

➡️ Swipe to learn more and DM or visit our website to apply. ✨

📣 NEXT THURSDAY 10/8: Another LIVE Writers Who Run panel at the Abbott Health & Fitness Expo ahead of @chimarathon.

Journalist @malissaonthemove is back in Chicago hosting another live panel all about how writers incorporate movement and running into their discipline.

I got to listen to her panel last month at @printersrowfest and I left so inspired and energized.

Whether you need some pre-race inspiration, or are just looking for a cool way to understand movement and writing, this panel is free and open to all whether you’re running the marathon or not.

Last week, we hosted Writers Who Run columnist @malissaonthemove and author @marthaengber at the @americanwritersmuseum for the first-ever live version of the column!

Martha joined Chicago runners for a three-mile run through Chicago’s Loop, highlighting the setting of her book. After, we listened to a live interview all about Martha’s writing, movement, and how the two influence each other.

Stay tuned for the column on our website and until then, keep writing, reading, and running.

🍹Thanks so much to @drinknakedlife and @madegoodfoods for the post-run goodies.
