Thought it was time for an update to get to know me better, so here it is! ✨

So if you’re new around here, I’m Mattia (or Tia for short)! 🥰🥰

I love all things books, travelling, concerts, sports and so much more! 😘

A few fun facts about me!
🫶🏻 I’ve travelled all over Australia (apart from Tasmania!)
🫶🏻 I am 24, turning 25 in November! (I’m a Scorpio baby ♏️)
🫶🏻 Some of my favourite shows include Brooklyn 99, The Office, One Tree Hill, Heated Rivalry and Friends!
🫶🏻 I’ve been a dancer for 15 years!
🫶🏻 My favourite genres are mainly romance and fantasy!

🧡 adhd awareness month 🧡

This will be most vulnerable post for me to make on this account so far, especially since I haven’t shared much of my journey yet 🥹

I was very much inspired by my gal @vampsreads for this post, and giving me the courage to share my own journey to getting diagnosed with combined ADHD (+ Autism) 🫶🏻

The journey for me finally getting diagnosed this year at the age 24 was a little bit of a wild ride for me, and a very quick one starting back in March/April of this year to getting diagnosed at the end of June. The funny feeling is that I had always had something in the back of my mind there was something else apart from my anxiety! But it was not knowing the words for it, up until I had been talking a lot about sensory overload in my therapy sessions and then was asked if I’d been tested before for both Autism and ADHD.

The real eye-opener was just relating and putting things together from my childhood I didn’t know the time was either my Autism or ADHD, but putting two and two together has been both relieving but also grieving for what could’ve been when I was younger and the help I could’ve got. There was so many things that added up to me from when I was younger and even now to when I’ve only got diagnosed and it just clicked. It wasn’t just my anxiety. It had words to describe it all, finally 😭

My burnout was absolutely real and took such a toll on me personally that I end up having to take 7 weeks off work to just heal and grieve and just feel everything I needed to. That was one of the hardest times that I’ve been through my life and I feel like I just didn’t even recognise myself or know how to take care of myself. There was no energy at all those days leading up to me taking leave would just be working and having to mask every day to just get through the day and that was very hard for me emotionally and mentally.

I’m very thankful now to be on the other side of that burnout and just focus on recovering and learning more about myself and just embracing the true and authentic AuDHD me now 🥰

Even now, I find that reading stories with neurodivergent characters that are just like just me really gives me something to relate by @readby.tia

🥰 SEPTEMBER WRAPUP 🥰

Happy Thursday and happy October! 🫶🏻
This was the slowest month of reading I’ve had ever, and still very much in a slump! 😢
So if anyone has any reccs they’d be very much appreciated! 🥹

Some highlights of my month were:
- Finalising my new bookshelves! Still very much obsessed
- Seeing my brother play finals footy (locally!)
- Getting to create such a sentimental birthday surprise vid for my witchy gal @sophiabee.darkreads 🥹 (vid is below 👇)
- The very first Secrets in the Pages in Bendigo! What a beautiful day this was 🥰
- NHL is backkkk!! Got a chance to watch my New Jersey Devils play some of their preseason games, and now onto the regular season! ❤️🖤🤍
- To cap the month off, catching up with my Shelf Care gals and seeing Practical Magic 2 together! ✨

✨AUGUST WRAP-UP ✨

Happy Wednesday and happy August! 🫶🏻
What a month August was to say the least! This was the slowest month of reading I’ve had for a very long time, but loved pretty much everything I did read! This month was also the month I set up my new bookshelves in my new room at home, which was very exciting and I’m obsessed!

Some highlights of my month were catching up with the Shelf Care gals for a crafty afternoon for book club, catching up with some beautiful friends and ending the month by catching up on the Book Babes discord for our book club meeting, which was so much fun 🫶🏻

🎨 shelf care club: crafty day + chats edition 🎨

Spent my afternoon today with these beautiful gals for our catchup, doing all things crafty and catching up! Finally got to meet @bethsbooksau (+ her mini Zo gal) and @annieish_delights which was so wonderful to finally meet them in person! 🫶🏻🫶🏻

We did spin the wheel to pick our next book based off some of the pretty covers we all own (minus one not in this pic), but you’ll have to wait and see on @bridiereadsalot’s page to what book won! 👀😝
