POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
So the craziest thing happened to me this past week @studio5ksl reached out to me and said they wanted to interview me about the book basket exchange @hollys_book_musings hosted with me! What?!? At first I thought it was a scam but then realized if they had 45k followers it was probably legit. 🤯 So yesterday I taped a zoom call which they aired on their show today! It was an awesome experience I will probably never get to do again so I’m glad I got out of my comfort zone and said yes!
What is something you have done lately to get out of your comfort zone? Sometimes it’s hard but I’m always glad when I say YES!
I will link the video in my stories and bio if you want to check it out. And get together with your friends and throw a book basket party! It was so much fun and definitely something we will be doing again! by @reading.between.the.whines

You are cordially invited to our 3rd annual Fall Book Basket Exchange party! We are so excited to keep this tradition alive and would love for you to invite any of your book loving friends/family who live in AZ or would love to come for a visit when the weather is perfect!

This year we are going to switch it up to help things move more quickly. When you arrive place your basket on the designated tables for people to browse beforehand while we mix and mingle and talk books! Prior to the exchange, we will take turns sharing about 2 things we have in our baskets.

If you feel so inclined you can put a note in your basket detailing your items along with your contact info if you would love to chat about the book and any content or trigger warnings you feel should be mentioned. Like in years past we request that you only bring closed-door-books with no explicit scenes.

We ask that you bring something sweet or savory to share, and we will provide the drinks! It is outside and usually a little chilly so dress accordingly. We also have a long list of amazing prizes for our raffles!

So start thinking of an amazing book to share and begin searching for some fun things to add to your basket that either remind you of the book or something fun to enjoy while reading! You have one month friends!

DM either @reading.between.the.whines or @hollys_book_musings to RSVP so we make sure we have enough chairs and you can receive the address. by @reading.between.the.whines

I have said it once and I’ll say it again Sian Bessey’s books leave me feeling like a warm hug. This one had it all, suspense, mystery, redemption, romance and I loved every second of it.

Sammy was an orphan who is forced to become a pickpocket on the streets of London in order to get by, but one day he crosses paths with Hannah in a pawnshop where he was planning to sell his stolen goods and his life is changed forever.

“That day in the pawnshop, you did nothing wrong. Indeed, I . . . I owe my life to you. I owe everything I am now to you.”

Twelve years pass and Hannah always blames herself for sending that young boy to the gallows, and then one day she sees a man with familiar striking eyes and she can’t remember how she knows them. Their paths keep crossing and secrets are kept, but what plays out is a beautiful love story of forgiveness, looking for the positives in difficult situations and a good reminder of the worth of all souls. I would definitely recommend this one! I received an advanced copy from the author, all thoughts are my own. @sian_bessey @properromanceseries @shadowmountainpub by @reading.between.the.whines

One ball, three separate couples, and three delightful love stories.
I listened to the audiobook and I thoroughly enjoyed this anthology. Sometimes a novella is the perfect length and when life is busy, I find that to be especially true. And as my kids are finishing up their first quarter of school, my life is extra busy.
I loved escaping into these stories today as I worked through my to-do list, aren’t audiobooks just the best? They turn everyday chores into “me time.”

The narrator did a fantastic job, bringing these stories to life. If audiobooks are not your thing, I still love these anthologies for busy times of year because you can easily squeeze in one of the short stories. I have amassed quite the collection of anthologies in my Kindle. I would definitely recommend this one if you like historical romance, meddling mothers and fast paced swoony romances.

It has been far too long since I have read one of Sally Britton‘s books.

Tamsin is the oldest daughter and a thrust into the role of mother essentially when her stepmother is overwhelmed with ten children. Much is required of her. But after a shocking proposal after believing she was very much “on the shelf” she finds herself struggling to not jump in and save her family members and also with her desires to feel need.

Roman chooses Tamsin as a practical choice for a wife after she checks many items on his list, but he finds himself saying “There is little I would not do to see you happy.”

These two grow so much together and deal with heartaches and misunderstandings and it’s truly beautiful the relationship they create and the way they are able to learn to support each other.

This one is part of a series, but can be read as a standalone. The first book in the series features the brother of Roman, the MMC in this book, and it is a spinoff of the Clarvoir Castle series. I have read them all and loved them all! I would definitely recommend this one and any of Sally Britton’s other books

Romeo and Juliet meets small Vermont town in the fall minus all the horrific ending business 😅 which is just the way I like it!

Loved this one! The single POV really kept that tension and boy was there tension! I have never wanted to go camping under the stars more than I do after reading this book! And don’t even get me started on how due my city is for a really good down pour! Iykyk

I absolutely loved this one and cannot wait to read the rest of this multi author series! It has been so fun seeing all interconnected characters!

I received an advanced copy of this book from the author but all thoughts are my own and I would definitely recommend this one! @authormarthakeyes #fallingforautumnnovel by @reading.between.the.whines

Every time I read one of Kate Watsons books I feel like I have been through therapy in the best way and then throw in a swoony romance and plenty of laugh out loud moments and you have the perfect recipe for a book that stays with you and you find yourself thinking about for days and weeks to come.

This one can definitely be read on its own, but when you have such an amazing series why would you want to do that?!? I have read the other books in this series, so I was anxiously awaiting Logan and Georgie finally reconnecting after they cross paths at spring training and they instantly feel a connection.

This one had major Cinderella vibes meets baseball and I loved it! Instead of a glass slipper Logan finds a Meant to Bean patch (a local coffe shop) that fell off of Georgie’s converse shoes and spends the next year searching for her all over Mullet Ridge. And just like Cinderella, Georgie has a toxic step-mother and plenty of baggage that comes along with an absentee father. Also it’s important to know both of the main characters have lost their mothers so if that hits close to home for you go in with eyes wide open but I wouldn’t shy away from this beautiful book that follows the path of grief and healing after the loss of a parent and has plenty of anxiety rep as well.

All the feels and all the stars for this one. I absolutely loved it!

I fell in love with Penny and Carson in Resisting the Fall and loved getting to learn even more about their story and really get to know Emma, who is an absolute gem of a fictional human.

Carson is a recently divorced single dad of 9yo Penny. He goes out for a night with friends outside of town and does something totally uncharacteristic of him, after ten years of not even thinking of another woman, he kisses Emma thinking they will never see each other again.

Fast forward to the next morning and Emma goes to her neighbors house to borrow some flour and she finds Carson in the kitchen.

After moving back home to Autumn Ridge for a fresh start the last thing Carson expects to find in his mom’s kitchen is the woman he kissed senseless the night before but he can’t stop thinking about her, no matter how hard he tries to just focus on getting his life back on track.

I absolutely loved this one! It was full of insightful wisdom about love and healing and I loved Penny’s blossoming relationship with Emma. Carson has some great character growth as well and learned a lot about love along the way. I would definitely recommend this one! I devoured it in one day and it left me feeling like a warm hug! Cozy fall
Vibes for sure- now someone take me someplace with seasons because I’m getting really sick of this 100+ degree weather! I need some pumpkin spice and leaves and that crisp fall air! But until then I will just jeep reading this multi author series and turn down my AC and just pretend! ❤️🍁💛🍂🧡

LOVED it! All the backstory spread throughout was so so good. The pranks were hilarious. I was cackling like an old witch with some of them and that tension 👌🏼 it was almost like a YA mixed with a second chance romcom, so double the fun!

Maven and Bennett were divorced or so they thought, a filing error actually means they are still married and after seeking out a quick fix from a small town judge they end up in a 30 day reconciliation period.

Maven is not happy about it and she is prepared to make Ben’s life miserable during all this forced interaction and we get to enjoy all the fun!

All the feels for this one I was about 80% done and just did not want to put it down and I had puffy eyes and mascara running down my face right before I went on a date with my husband 😅 I had to reassure him I was alright, just you know crying over fictional characters

The one was the whole package and I would definitely recommend it!

I am a big fan of second chances because honestly I feel like I’m constantly making mistakes. Theo and Becca fall hard and fast in high school but then life happens and they don’t handle it in the best way possible. But loosing a parent at a young age is definitely a good excuse for not making the best choices.
Unfortunately for Becca that means Theo pushes her away instead of relying on her during his intense grief.

8 years later Becca is working as a scrub nurse when she gets assigned a case only to realize it’s her ex Theo after a life threatening Hockey accident (if you want to read all about it check out book one in the Georgia Jaguars “Could’ve Fooled Me” for Theo’s twin’s story)

After fate threw them back together again and some meddling by loving mothers, Becca and Theo finally get their second chance.

I first learned about the Williamson twins when I read When Alec met Evie which is in the Appies Series and have loved getting to see their stories unfold in this new series. I have thoroughly enjoyed them both and will definitely recommend them and any of Jenny’s other books. Also huge shoutout for the chronic illness/MS rep! I grew up in a family with 6 kids and a mother with Multiple Sclerosis, she was sick a lot and I feel like it was often hard for others to understand so I love seeing it mentioned in books. I received and advanced copy of this book, all thoughts are my own

CW/TW- @jennyproctorbooks has a post dedicated to this but just fyi this one is closed door but the couple were in an intimate relationship in high school and it’s mentioned briefly a few times during the story, and there is also the mention of loss of a parent in the past by @reading.between.the.whines
