A look at a day in my life working in book publishing! 📖

This was a day filled with content creation, editing, and content planning, which are some of my favorites! I love all aspects of my job, but I’m especially grateful that it involves so much creativity 📚☺️ taken in Toronto, Ontario by @reading.things

Some books you should try out if you enjoyed Normal People (the show or the book) 🫶🏽❤️

I love the show so much and actually watched it before I ever read the book! Reading the book just made me love it even more, it added so much context to Connell in particular and what’s going through his head in those moments when he gets quiet.

I had way too much fun making this and looking into all the different books I think the Abbott characters would read!

Jacob was by far the easiest, the show practically hands us his desired reading lists 😂

A day in my life as a marketing girl working in book publishing! This was a really busy in-office day, but also such a fun and productive day. Spending lunch at a café reading is also always such a lovely break in my day, and we had some lovely fall weather! 🍂 taken in Toronto, Ontario by @reading.things

Oct 4-10 is banned books week! These are 24 banned and challenged books you can add to your TBR list📚

I also highly recommend checking out @americanlibraryassociation and @penamerica! They are doing incredible work and you can find lots more information on their pages and websites❤️ by @reading.things

Convincing you to read these books with their final lines❤️

Okay something I’ve done since I was a kid that is quite jarring to my friends is reading the last page of a book first. There are some instances where I try to avoid it like with thrillers or some fantasy books, but it’s a habit I’ve spent well over a decade doing. The last page of a book became so meaningful to me, I loved knowing what the final words were and then going back to see how we got there.

This is a much more chill less spoiler-y version of that.📖 by @reading.things

@novellalabs_novellamate gifted me their literary clock Novella Mate and I’ve been absolutely obsessed! 😊 I keep mine on “inspiration mode”which shows me quotes from my favorite authors, but there are two other options “time quote mode” and “weather quote mode”. These two show different quotes that match the time and weather!

Please enjoy some of my favorite Fredrik Backman quotes that I’ve seen recently in my Novella Mate💕

Sometimes I just feel like yapping, so let’s chat! Two of my highly anticipated 2026 book to movie adaptations are coming out in this last part of the year, one just recently came out The Love Hypothesis and the next is Sunrise On The Reaping!😊 Now I think all SOTR fans know that this movie is very likely going to tear us apart, I have been watching all the edits, trailers, cast videos and I feel like SOTR is going to follow in the footsteps of the original Hunger Games trilogy and just be an incredible adaptation for fans of the book!

💬which book to movie adaptations are you most excited for?

A little wrap up on what I read in September and my October TBR! 💕

September was I think my worst reading month of the year so far, I kept finding myself in reading slumps. But I also read some truly incredible books, even discovering new favs which to me is always a win😊

💬 what was your favorite September read? by @reading.things
