Wowowowow. I am speechless over this book!!!! It has left me feeling so empty (because I was heartbroken that it ended) but at the same time feeling so fulfilled (because it was AMAZING). This was truly the most beautifully written book I have ever read. If you like (or even dislike) anything written by Homer (which I’m sure we all ha to read in high school at some point!), The Song of Achilles is a must read. It is a beautiful adaptation of Homer’s writing and is an overall breathtaking story. I have only good things to say about this book. 5/5 stars does not even do it justice. I’m in love with this book 😩❤️‍🔥 by @readingwithris

"What's the ether?"
"It's what people used to believe the universe was filled with," he said. "They believed light needed to pass through something, only Einstein proved light can be particles, which don't need a medium to travel through. And before that,' he added, "ether was what they called the air in the realm of the gods. A shining, fluid substance."
"So when people say we're alone in the ether...?"
"Alone in everything. In time and space, in existence, in religion.”

This book 😭😭😭 I absolutely LOVE this book. Easily my new favorite book and the most beautiful love story I’ve ever read. The writing is stunning and just made me so immersed in the story. The idea of two people who feel that they are so broken but cannot be fixed, finding each other and accepting one another for who they are, no questions asked, is so beautiful and was so refreshing to read.

Pls pls pls pls read this book!! ASAP!!!! It easily made its way to my top 3 favorite books ever.

And side note, can we just acknowledge how pretty this cover is???? I wanna stare at it forever. I’m obsessed with everything about this book and I will not shut up about it for quite some time 😀 by @readingwithris

I can say so much about this book, and at the same time, there are no words to accurately describe how I feel about this book.

A Little Life is a gut-wrenching yet absolutely beautiful story about love and loss, friendship, adulthood, family, trauma, and so much more. This book is addicting; any time I wasn’t reading it, all I did was think about the story and the characters.

Which brings me to the characters. I can go on and on and on about them all, specifically Jude St. Francis. It is very rare that I read a book and a specific character makes such an impact on me. I read a lot of books that the overall story will stick with me, but rarely do the characters. A Little Life and Jude St. Francis changed that for me. I will never ever ever forget this character and his story.

This book embodies everything I love about reading, and from here on out, when someone asks me how and/or why I love reading so much, I’ll simply tell them to read this book, and the they will understand. This is a book that will absolutely stay with you forever and ever.

A Little Life broke my heart in the most beautiful way. That being said, it is a very very heavy book. There were definitely times where I had to take a break after reading some parts. While I recommend this book, I also want to make it clear it is important to read with caution, so please be aware of some trigger warnings before deciding: mental illness, self harm, domestic violence, sexual assault, pedophilia, grooming, drug use, suicidal ideations, suicide attempts, and more. If you google trigger warnings for this book, you will find a list. I suggest doing so before reading just to be sure! One thing I appreciate about this book is that there is no beating around the bush when confronting these topics throughout the story, which makes the story so real, raw, and honest.

This is truly my favorite book; no other book has ever made me feel so many emotions as intensely as this book has, both good and bad. I don’t think there is, or ever will be, another book or author that can do what @hanyayanagihara has in A Little Life.

It’s never too late to ask for help, and there is never ever any shame in doing so 🤍 by @readingwithris

Frozen River by Ariel Lawhon ✨❣️

If you like a murder mystery that’s not just a murder mystery, you’ll surely enjoy this read! I was hooked from the start - there’s a lot to love about this book. There’s the murder mystery aspect, the feminism, the love between Martha and Ephraim, the family and community, and so much more. However, at the same time, there were moments where I was feeling like there were way too many storylines happening at once, which took away a lot of their potential from each other. Overall, this was enjoyable and I would say it’s worth the read!

Phoebe Berman’s Gonna Lose It by Brooke Averick ✨🩷

A highly anticipated read for me that definitely delivered!! This was super fun and sweet, and always very real! What I appreciate most about this book is the thoughtfulness behind describing what it’s like to have relationship anxiety and OCD. It is so relatable and was so nice to read about a main character in a rom com that was scared and awkward and honest!

Also felt this song about anxiety by @daniellebradbery (that is very near and dear to me) was perfect for this book! I was thinking about it the whole time reading by @readingwithris

Blue Sisters by Coco Mellors ✨💙

The story of the Blue Sisters is one that I will not forget for quite some time (if at all). I love how different all of the sisters were, but also so similar and so clearly sisters. Their bond is beautiful and their journey through grief is so real and human. It’s one of those books where I really think you can see a little bit of yourself in every character, which makes it really special. I adored this book and can’t recommend it enough! by @readingwithris

Our Perfect Storm by Carley Fortune ✨💜

“It’s not fair, you knowing all my weak spots.”
“It’s not fair, you being the greatest of mine.”

Love this book. Love this story. Love this love!!!!! Our Perfect Storm is such a sweet friends to lovers that is sure to make you feel giddy and happy and excited (and at times, sad. I cried once or twice). George and Frankie are the blueprint for best friends to lovers, and Carley Fortune’s writing really makes you feel like these two are destined to be together - there’s no other option and never would be. Ugh! Loved it and so happy I got it through Libby before summer ends! by @readingwithris

Tangerinn by Emanuela Anechoum ✨🧡

To be transparent, I bought this book because I’m obsessed with the cover. Then I read the synopsis, and was even more intrigued! I’m so glad I purchased and read this. This was a really beautiful exploration of grief, loss, family, and finding yourself. Let this be a sign to stray away from all the trending books every now and then!! by @readingwithris

Into the Blue by Emma Brodie ✨💙

Talk about an epic, tragic, heartbreaking, beautiful love story!!! The way that AJ and Noah were so connected - it felt like reading about the very definition of soulmates. The unspoken communication, as well as the communication through their acting, was such a different approach to any other book I’ve read, and I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it. The storytelling was beautiful. Such an amazing, gripping, stunning read!! by @readingwithris
