Eight amazing authors are joining us from the end of August through November to share their cookbooks and stories with us

Talk x Taste is our award winning author series where cookbooks come to life. Our in-depth author chats bring culinary adventures to life when we prepare two dishes from each cookbook, allowing our audiences to read and eat together. Signed cookbooks are available at discounted prices as well

Some tickets are not live yet as we iron out the final details, but we want to let you save the date in your calendars and no dates conflict with the Bills season (yes, we checked 😂)

What’s for dinner? With Kay Chun, the answer is never boring🥗🍴

Join us for our next Talk x Taste as we celebrate the release of Gather Around My Table: Simple Flavorful Recipes from My Global Pantry.

Chef and author Kay Chun draws inspiration from her Korean roots, her life as a lifelong New Yorker, and a truly global pantry to create recipes that feel both fresh and familiar.

Think Pan con Tomate Bodega Rolls, Creamy Scallion & Doenjang Midnight Pasta, Saturday Salmon & Rice, Brisket Matzoh Ball Soup, and Korean Sunday Sauce.

During the event, Kay will join our owner Kim for a conversation about the cookbook, inspiration, and cooking without boundaries — plus attendees will get to sample two recipes from the book.

BUFFALO, NY📍Had a whirlwind 24 hours in Buffalo over the weekend for a Small-Batch Breads tour event hosted by culinary bookstore @readitandeatbuf at @shopshegathers. I had never been to Buffalo before and had zero idea what to expect but we had amazing food everywhere we went and truly everyone we met was SO friendly. We kept passing other places we wanted to stop and check out but didn’t have time, I would absolutely go back and visit again.

For Read It & Eat, it meant starting the search for a new home.📚

Our current shop is just 450 square feet — a space that helped us grow, host events, build community, and become the bookstore we are today.

But the vision was getting bigger.

In this week’s Behind the Shelves, Kim takes us into the early stages of that search: the data, the vision document, the spaces that didn’t work, the relationships that opened doors, and the real estate agent who connected the dots.

Because building a business may have one person’s name on the door, but it rarely happens alone.
