THE ART OF LOVING YOU by Natasha Bishop was such a good read.

The book is so different from the first book in the series Only For The Week, but in the best way. It touched on vulnerability, grief, and understanding oneโ€™s worth in a thought provoking way.

Natasha Bishop really captured the realistic emotions and feelings one experiences when going through the process of loss. This story reminded me that grief is never linear; there are good and hard days. Grief can be messy, raw, and painful. And at the same time grief can led to extraordinary things; new ways of living, rediscovery, and growth.

I loved how therapy was incorporated into the story, i thought it was utilized beautifully.

I also loved that we got POVโ€™s from both Dani and Micah. You were able to see and understand their emotions, their vulnerabilities, and their needs; as well as their different perspectives of situations they experienced together and separately.

There were so many deep layers of the characters as they explored pent up emotions and unresolved feels they have for each other. I like the pacing of Dani and Micah rebuilding their friendship to developing something more intimate. It felt real and natural. You could feel the deep rooted emotions they held for each other during their interactions

This story was special. I canโ€™t wait to see what Natasha Bishop has in store next for this series.

I love an artistic man like Micah. The men that Natasha create are everything.

Dani was amazing. The females that Natasha creates are inspiring and show we are deserving of love and to be loved.

SCORE by Kennedy Ryan was a masterpiece, it was deeply layered and emotionally profound.

Kennedy continues to blow my mind with her incredible writing and storytelling.

Iโ€™m in awe of her ability to draw you into her story and make you feel a deep connection to her characters.

There is so much intention and thought when it comes to her writing that is so healing and gentle. You can tell Kennedy truly cares about what she writes and shares to her readers through the level of research she puts into displaying a realistic depiction of the topics discussed in this book.

Kennedyโ€™s portrayal of bipolar disorder was done beautifully as well as her discussion of generational trauma. Although Iโ€™m not entirely familiar with the lived experience of bipolar disorder. Verity is a special character to me. Through Verity, with her internal thoughts, fears and vulnerabilities when it came to her battle with bipolar disorder. Kennedy expanded my understanding of the condition in an impactful way. She really allowed you to see every version of the person behind their diagnosis.

She continues to remind me that every aspect of you can be fully loved despite the struggles and hardships you face in life. You are more than just a label or condition that society wants to keep you in.

Itโ€™s not hard to see how special Verity and Monk are. Despite having a complex and tumultuous past. Their love was passionate, real, and breathtaking that expanded beyond each page. You couldnโ€™t help gravitate to every interaction, every stage, and every emotion of their journey back together. Their moments of openness to repair what was lost were raw and tender. I loved their willingness to trust each other again, reestablish a new foundation for their relationship to understand each other, and hold space for one another. The evolution of their love was beautiful to witness.

Overall, Kennedy Ryan continues to bring forth beautiful representation, joy, and emotion to readers.

I admire how she isnโ€™t scared to be bold with her writing. Advocating for more stories and art from people that look like her characters to be shared instead of being shelved away. by @readwithtee

There is nothing better than rereading an old favourite.

I didnโ€™t think it was possible but I loved RESTORE ME even more the second time around. This was the first time Iโ€™ve read this book since it has been traditionally published and the level of emotions I felt for this book now has intensified.

Throughout this reread JL Seegars reminded me how beautiful, meticulous, and raw her writing is. Her storytelling is truly captivating.

It felt nostalgic rereading my favourite vulnerable, thought provoking, and intense scenes as well as finding new moments I missed. You should see the amount I underlined and highlighted.

I still canโ€™t get over how beautifully JL Seegar incorporated grief into the story as well as the different levels and processes of grief each character experienced. Will forever be in awe of it.

She puts so much thought and care into her characters, breaking down every aspect of them to their very soul. Where you canโ€™t help but feel a deep level of understanding and connection to them.

Sloane and Dominic are incredible characters; completely flawed and complex. Their internal struggles and growth were incredible to witness. They both hold a level of strength and vulnerability.

Their dynamic is so good. Although their relationship is unconventional, deeply rooted in hate, passion, resentment, yearning, and desire for twelve years. You canโ€™t deny the chemistry that brews between them. By the way that they look at each other, the way that their bodies respond to one another, and the way that they hang onto each otherโ€™s words. They really have something special.

Even though their situation is messy, their love is raw and genuine. I love their willingness to understand each other, displayed patience when it came to their individual needs, and respecting each otherโ€™s boundaries. They possessed a level of intimacy and connection that anyone would desire.

Overall, this book will forever be a favorite of mine. I love the new additions that were added to the story. I felt it completed it perfectly. Iโ€™m excited to reread the first of this series.

IF YOU STAYED by Brittiany Cherry was a beautiful depiction of a second chance of love and life itself.ย

I finished this book in one day.ย

A fresh, intimate, and emotionally complex story, Iโ€™m consistently left in awe by Brittianyโ€™s writing and storytelling.ย

There is a level of depth, emotion and messiness to her stories and characters that completely draws you in, that makes it hard to escape.ย
I love how Brittany brought forth impactful topics into the story in such a realistic and thought provoking way with the dialogue and interactions of the characters.ย

The emotional journeys these characters experienced was raw and incredible.ย

Keira is such a special character. She carries so much on her own that many couldnโ€™t bear. Being mistreated by her husband, she is barely hanging on in a space where sheโ€™s not able to experience life. I admired her growth throughout the read when it came to finding her voice, her strength and surrounding herself with those who value her worth. Her relationship with her stepdaughter Ava was one of my favourite moments of the read. She gave Ava so much love and guidance that they both deeply needed.ย

Gabriel was amazing. Disoriented memories, having to live many years without Kiera, whoโ€™s an essential component in his life. When he found her again, it was as though he never forgot how to cherish every aspect of her. You could feel the love and respect between them. He was tender, honest, generous, and patient when it came to Keira and her needs. He showed up for her when she needed it the most. Showing her what it means to be loved fully. Even by the way Gabriel accepted Ava in her life.ย

As their relationship evolved; the bond that developed between Kiera, Ava, and Gabriel was beautiful to witness.ย

There was so much intimacy, longing, and vulnerability in their relationship and love that anyone would desire.

Overall, I loved this story. Brittainy truly knows now how to make you feel thoroughly.

reading my entire e-reader tbr.

I have to admit, I do go a little overboard with requesting arcโ€™s. There just so many books Iโ€™m excited to get into.

This month I want to prioritize finishing as many arcs as I can before i start getting overwhelmed by them all.

Thus, this month itโ€™s me and my kobo against the world!!

So far Iโ€™ve read two: Big Girl Blitz (I loved it) and By The Bootstrap, I will share more of my thoughts closer to their release date.

Iโ€™m currently reading Die For Me and The Bridge Back To You. I love both of these authorsโ€™ work.

Q: what arcโ€™s are you excited to read this month?

ETERNAL RUIN by Tigest Girma left me in complete shambles. It was such a beautiful continuation to an incredible series.

Filled with deadly impossible choices and an enriching world.Tigestโ€™s writing continues to be methodical, sharp, and lyrical. There is intention in each page she created.

Like Immortal Dark, Eternal Ruin continued to elevate the discussion of complex topics of sisterhood, grief, love, power, devotion, betrayal, sacrifice, and humanity in such a beautiful thought-provoking way.

The way that Tigest intertwined these topics throughout the story brought new layers, depth, and understanding to the characters as they discovered their purpose in an unclear journey.

The multiple POVโ€™s added satisfying and suspenseful touches to the story. Witnessing the various perspectives of each character.

Kidan will always be a favourite character of mine. She is complex and morally flawed. Deeply rooted in rage. There is so much strength in her that I deeply admired as well as vulnerability that I love about her. She had to endure many unexpected adversaries in pursuit of her duties and desires. Where at times I couldnโ€™t fault her for the actions she made in response to them. Her moments of heartbreak made me connect deeply with her.

The dynamic between Kidan and Susenyos was insane. When I think about yearning, I immediately think of them. Although they are both unhinged, ruthless, and distrusting to the other. Somehow, they are made of one another. They have incredible chemistry; their desire for each other was raw and palpable. I loved their soft and vulnerable moments together; where they showed each other glimpses of themselves no one else cares to see. With the rage there is a tenderness between them that is sacred that no one else would understand.

And that ending!! It rattled me to the bone. Beautiful executed, there were so many twists and revelations revealed. My heart is in pain for these characters for what is to come.

Overall, this book was incredible, leaving me in complete ruin. Tigest is an amazing storyteller, Iโ€™m excited and terrified to see what is to come in book three.

THE SECOND DEATH OF LOCKE by V.L Bovalino was one of the best friends to lovers fantasy reads Iโ€™ve read in a long time.

An addictive story from the start.

Atmospheric, mood, romantic and gothic.ย

The authorโ€™s writing was beyond captivated from the world building to the very depths of the characters. Every aspect of this book felt so real and vivid. Honestly itโ€™s just magical.ย
I was completely drawn to Grey and Kierโ€™s journey together. I wasnโ€™t expecting to be so invested in their story the way I was. But they not only did they have a beautiful bond but the level of yearning and passion between them was palpable.ย

Complex characters, their interactions were beautifully constructed and intimate as well as the level of comfort, trust and need they provide one another was special.ย

I admire the way that they constantly saw each other as equals through their verbal and physical actions.ย

The magic system was also unique and intriguing. Especially the history of the Lockeย
And that ending, I hope we get more of this world.ย

This book was everything I could have asked for and audiobook was incredible as well.

Iโ€™m excited to see what V.L Bovalino has in story.

With 2025 coming to an end, here are some moments I enjoyed this year:

1. passed the NCLEX exam

2. celebrated my 30th birthday and said goodbye to my 20โ€™s

3. made cinnamon rolls for the first time. Iโ€™ve always been intimidated by the process of making cinnamon rolls but Iโ€™m proud with how they turned out. I will definitely make them again.

4. found new favourite reads that I lost countless sleep over and I still canโ€™t stop thinking about them.

5. found a new favourite artist. Olivia Deanโ€™s music is beautiful, from her lyrics to her voice. Connected so much with her music. The Art of Loving album has been playing on repeat and I canโ€™t wait to see her live in August.

6. Heated Rivalry has consumed every aspect of my time. A new comfort show for me. Itโ€™s one of the best adaptations Iโ€™ve watched in a while, I canโ€™t even tell you how many times Iโ€™ve watched each episode. Hudson and Connor did an incredible job bringing these characters to life. Their chemistry, acting, and vulnerability was beautiful. Canโ€™t wait for season two.

7. Found new cafes to escape to

8. thereโ€™s so many books coming out next year that Iโ€™m really excited about and overwhelmed by. But to start the new year these are a few Iโ€™m planning to prioritize first to start 2026 right.

2025 wasnโ€™t the easiest for me, good days, bad days, and challenging days. It really made me refocus and think about my intentions as well as what I want 2026 to be for myself when it comes to my personal life, my professional life, and my boundaries. by @readwithtee

SWEET HEAT by Bolu Babalola was phenomenal and everything I wanted a sequel to be.ย

It has been years since Iโ€™ve read Honey & Spice and Bolu proved again what an incredible writer she is. I was completely captivated by this book. Each scene she wrote was beautiful, emotional and raw; they truly cut you deep.ย ย

It was a perfect second chance romance.ย

I missed these characters, seeing their journeys in this read now in their late 20โ€™s was incredible. I found myself connected with them even more on a vulnerable level with this book since Honey & Spice.ย

Kiki still remains one of my favourite female characters. Sarcastic with a dry sense of humor, unabashed, and true to herself. I related to her so much in her moments of vulnerability with trying to portray herself as the perfect daughter, repressing her emotions to prevent feeling the pain of it all, and her internal self-doubts.

Being known to hide her emotions and maintaining a hard exterior. I loved seeing her perspective of her relationship with Mal as well as the pain, feelings, and emotions she still harbors for him.ย

I love the journey Kiki and Mal take in this story as they navigate through their identities, worth, careers, success, family life, friendships, and their relationship.ย

Kiki and Mal showed an honest depiction of what a relationship is as it goes through heartbreak, trials.ย  and tribulations. Their relationship was paced really well. Their journey isnโ€™t easy or light; itโ€™s filled with real emotions, pain, hostility, resentment, and intense and honest conversations. Raw moments of healing. You can tell they had deep love for each other despite the hurt they caused each other. You could feel that love too in their interactions.ย

Malโ€™s vulnerability was special, it had me teary. The pressures he had placed on himself and his ability to push through with what he went through broke me.

One of the things I loved was seeing the friendships, their group has a special bond that anyone would want to have.ย

Overall, this book was perfect. Thank you @shonnareads for being there during this read, I couldnโ€™t have survived without you.ย

This was a beautiful ending to Kiki and Malโ€™s story. by @readwithtee

AUGUST LANE by Regina Black was the first book I read by the author; and I absolutely loved every second of the read.

Reginaโ€™s writing and storytelling is honestly beautiful and captivating. I was completely drawn to the story from the start. There is so much emotion and vulnerability in each scene that you canโ€™t help but feel as you read each word she wrote.

She brought forth the important discussion of the position black musicians have in the music industry and country music. Specifically, the lack of respect and representation they have especially when it comes to country music.

Her characters felt so real and human. They were complex, raw, and vulnerable that anyone who reads their journey could understand and relate with.

The characters endure so much as the story unfolds; from heartbreak, to love, to self-acceptance, forgiveness, and recognizing when to let go.

August and Lukeโ€™s love story was beautiful, the pacing of their relationship was done really well. There was so much hurt, resolved emotions, and residual emotions between them they were resolved in a realistic way. You canโ€™t deny their chemistry, they were each otherโ€™s support system and it seems like they can only rely on each other during the moments of hurt and pain.

This book was beautiful, I really loved every moment of this book. It really shows that one story will never be perfect, there will be moments of pain and sadness but if you understand your worth and have at least one person by your side it can make the pain and anguish better.

They both just want to be loved right by those around them.

The flashbacks of their childhood was raw and brought so much understanding to their actions now as adults.

The family dynamics that Luke and August were individually exposed to was heartbreaking and deeply impactful. Regina highlighted incredibly how the types of support you receive at a young age can affect you emotionally, mentally and physically as you age; specially the decision you make later in life.

The audiobook was also incredible, capturing the emotions of the characters really well.

Overall, I enjoyed this. I will definitely read more of Regina Blackโ€™s work. by @readwithtee

ONCE UPON A TIME IN DOLLYWOOD by Ashley Jordan was incredible, the fact that this is her debut novel is insane to me. The story was so raw and beautifully written.ย

Ashleyโ€™s writing was captivating; I was completely drawn to the story from the first page. The way that she discussed sensitive topics like mental health, religion, family dynamics, infertility, and miscarriages was done really well.

Even the way that Ashley showed how religion can be weaponized against a person at a young age for the best interest of others was thought provoking. Not recognizing or taking time to see the effects and harm it can cause.ย

I felt every word and emotions embedded in each scene. It was incredibly profound, emotive, and insightful.ย

This was more than just a romance story.ย

The characters were complex, flawed, and displayed various levels of vulnerability. They felt real and I couldnโ€™t help but connect with them.ย

I connected so much with Eve, her journey in this book was absolutely beautiful. I felt like we were similar in the way that she copes by shutting down and closing in herself. I loved her ambition and passion for her work of bringing black stories and black creators to the forefront.

The dynamic between Eve and Jaime was everything. I loved them together. The pacing of the progression of their relationship was done well.ย

They were so different yet similar in some ways. They had a beautiful connection and their banter was so good. The back and forth of their relationship displayed a realistic depiction of the trials. I loved how they kept each other accountable. Pushing each other and being honest with each otherโ€™s needs and boundaries no matter how challenging those conversations were.

The growth of the characters, especially Eve, was beautiful to witness.ย

They reminded me that relationships take time and work as well as healing is never linear. You may lose loved ones in the process. Itโ€™s rugged and painful at times but even through the pain of it allows you to find yourself, see your worth and reshape your life potentially for the better.

Overall, I loved this book. Iโ€™m excited to read more of the authorโ€™s work in the future. by @readwithtee
