What's the last book that had you absolutely hooked, riveted, inhaling it as fast as possible? OR What are you currently reading?

Did I love all these books? Yes. Do I know why I rated them the way I did? I'm sure past me had a better idea than present me, but I stand by them.

Some facts about these books and my reading experience:
- I still think about Temper regularly. Changed my brain chemisty despite me being like, "What the πŸ’’," from the first page to the last.
- I finished The Predictable Heartbreaks of Imogen Finch in one sitting - literally just inhaled the book, which rarely happens for me.
- Masters of Death made me so excited for Olivie Blake's other books, even though it wasn't an absolute fave. I did love all the pieces of it, there were just a lot of distractions.
- Outdrawn was the first book I've ever read that had rep for carpel tunnel as a chronic disability - as someone who had to stop playing piano because of the twinges of it beginning, this was a nice surprise.
- I can still hear the narrator of the audiobook for Imogen, Obviously say exactly that. It was such a cute and heartwarming book.
- I had such trouble finding a copy of Night of the Raven, Dawn of the Dove that I got it right before the holidays started and just couldn't squeeze it in. I do hope to read it soon though because the library book is still on my office floor.

My current read - Sleeping Giants by Rene Denfeld - is @luceisntreal's rec for this year, and it's also giving me "What the πŸ’’" vibes but for very different reasons. If that energy speaks to you, give him a follow!

I posted these slides I made on my stories and was asked to make it into a post so people could share.

I can’t tell you as an adult how much it heals me to have bookcases (plural!) FULL of books written by Black, Brown, Indigenous, and Queer authors. I did not have this kind of representation growing up. Like, at all (unless you want to count books like To Kill A Mockingbird, Of Mice and Men, or Huckleberry Finn πŸ₯΄).

It’s never been easier to access books & communities that proudly showcase stories, characters, worlds, etc. that are as diverse as our own world is. These slides here are just the tip of the iceberg and I hope it inspires people to make the conscious choice to expand their reading horizons. I certainly have not been disappointed in the slightest.

I tagged some accounts mentioned but not all because 1) IG won’t let me and 2) I ain’t tryna spam people like that πŸ˜…

Happy Reading & Happy Diversifying!! πŸ«ΆπŸΎπŸ“šβœ¨
