Head of the Cuyahoga (9/26)

1v4+ 8th
2v8+ 5th

Cuyahoga is always a fun race because of how many meters you are able to shave off of your course. Out of the 9540 meters I raced (the course is projected at 4770 meters), I steered so my two crews only had to row 9076. I’m so happy to kick off fall on this high note and very excited for what’s to come!

1v4+ Result

1v4+ line from NK Logbook (a quad warming up interfered with our line in the last 1k of the race, which added ~50m to our course)

2v8+ Result

2v8+ Line

Dogwood Regatta 2025 (4/24-4/26)

Thanks to:
- The boys I got to go down the course with
- My talented coaches who help me train and grow as a coxswain and person
- The IRC boosters that kept me fed with delicious and nutritious food that helped me get through the weekend
- Everyone at @indyrowing and Dogwood who made this weekend so special
- APUSH, green tea, Coach Nich’s scooter, and Ceilings by Lizzie McAlpine

This regatta is always beautiful, and though the rain and fog kinda stunk, it was still beautiful, flat water which bore many good rows and fun races. Super excited for Indy Sprints sweep day tomorrow!!

Cincinnati Invite (4/11)
Thanks to:
- My hardworking rowers who uplift me on land and drive down on the water
- My other teammates and coxswains who braided my hair, took pictures, and cheered me on
- My coaches, who are there to launch us and also to push us.
- The IRC boosters who kept me fed, watered, and supported throughout the long weekend
- Everyone at @indyrowing and Cincinnati who made this weekend so smooth and fun
- Grater’s ice cream, Spotify mixed playlists, and my stuffed wild goose 🪿

Wowowow I’m so grateful for this short and sweet invitational. I loved each of the three time trials and two finals races I was able to compete in and of course the 3v4+ has a special place in my heart. After being middle of the pack going into the 1000, we power tened through the boat directly to our right and walked up to the 2nd place boat. During an unforgettable sprint, we pushed our bowball over the line half a second before them, only a second behind first, only forty minutes after the start of our previous race! Our silver made us the only sweep boat to medal for IRC this weekend. I’m so proud and invigorated and ready to rip into the rest of this spring. We’ll be back Cinci ;)

Wrapping up 2025
Timeline:
-Winter training:
Indoor Indy Sprints, third in Coxswain 500m
-Spring season with the IRC Highschool Red Team Program:
Coxswain at Eagle Creek Scrimmage, Dogwood Regatta, Eagle Creek Sprints, Midwest Championchips
-Most Spirited Red Team Girls Award
-Completion of my freshman year
-Summer season with the IRC High School Program:
Coxswain at Chicago Sprints
- Beginning of Sophomore Year at Brebeuf Jesuit
- Fall season with the IRC Highschool Black Team Program:
Coxswain at Head of the Cuyahoga, Blake Haxton, and Head of the Hooch
- Winter training

I am so full of gratitude and admiration to anyone I got to spend this year rowing with:
- My teammates at IRC, who taught me how to be a better coxswain, leader, and friend through races, rainy weather, team huddles, bus rides, and early morning dark rows
- The coaches, older rowers and coxswains, and outside mentors I got to work with this year. As I prepare myself to begin actually communicating with collegiate coaches about recruiting this summer, I have been fortunate to have a wealth of advice and experience at my fingertips. Not only that, but I also know that these people will always be there for me to fall back on and I am forever grateful for their support
- Every regatta, team event, and coach huddles and everyone who made them possible.
- The many difficult decisions I have had to make this season. I am grateful for the reminder that being a small fish in a big pond is bigger and scarier and much better for swimming.
- Anyone who got footage, gave me a ride, paid for my McDonalds, gave me advice, and helped me in any way have the best year. You know who you are!!

This year has marked a period of exponential growth in my presence both inside and outside of my club. I’m proud to say that my goal list from January was completely smashed out of the park. When I look at the coxswain I was in January compared to myself now, even the coxswain I was in November to myself now, I can see a definite change in the way I carry myself, my calls, and my teammates. I’m prepared to work towards perpetuating this trend and putting myself out there in 2026. xoxoxoxo ❤️🤍🖤 by @readyall_row

Head of the Hooch (10/31-11/2)

Thanks to:
- The boys and wonderful ladies in my four who I got to go down this beautiful course with
- All of my other teammates who kept me company and laughing throughout the regatta
- My coaches, who worked with me to make sure I had all the best seats and equipment to work towards my goals
- The IRC boosters who kept me fed, watered, and supported throughout the long weekend
- Everyone at @indyrowing and @headofthehooch who made this weekend so exciting and smooth
- Hooch donuts, handwarmers, and Cheyenne Adams, among other things

This regatta marks so many high points of my coxswain career so far: first 1v race, first masters race, and first regatta where i didn’t really feel like a novice anymore. I was so proud of my steering, calls, and confidence despite other people’s opinions and being under the weather.
Hooch marks the end of a season that surpassed every single expectation, both in my craft, as well as the love I felt at every single practice with every single person I got to spend them with. I feel like I always say this, but I am so grateful and indebted to the people and experiences I got to live this season (I’m getting emotional just thinking about it all!). This season has made me love my life again, and wrapped it up in the best way I could imagine.

Thanks to:
- The boys in my eight and fours who did their best despite equipment issues and funky lineups
- My coaches, who did their best to make sure I felt set and secured in myself and my boats
- The IRC boosters who provided food throughout the weekend
- Everyone at @indyrowing and Blake Haxton who made this Saturday so special
- Regatta bananas, my new airpods, and scarves, among other things

I am grateful for the straight course after Cuyahoga. This regatta gave me yet another lesson on persevering and doing the best with what I have. Sososo excited for Hooch!!

Head of the Cuyahoga 2025 (9/27)

Thanks to:
- The guys in my eight and fours who cranked it out on the water and on land, I appreciate all of you and all the hard work you put in. I promise to always reciprocate that.
- My other teammates who I didn’t cox but who supported me throughout the regatta, especially the other coxswains. I am forever grateful for your help and hugs.
- My talented coaches who assisted me in feeling confident, prepared, and excited to race
- The IRC boosters that kept me fed and watered throughout Saturday
- Everyone at @indyrowing and Cuyahoga who made this Saturday so special
- The voice memos app, dock pep talks, Olive Garden minty chocolate bite things, and bark circles, among other things

This regatta was diabolical, from racing a boat with a broken rudder to finding out we got gold while docking. This course is the hardest I’ve ever steered, and while it was horrifying to steer it in the Cookie, I was so proud to go sub 4.77k second and third races of the day. I’m sure this experience will live rent free in my mind for the rest of my coxing career. On another note, this marks my last regatta as a highschool novice!! I’m excited for my next chapter and all the things i’m going to learn. Surely there are many trains, nice lists, and blue skies in our future (ebn required).

45th Annual Chicago Sprints 2025 (7/12)

Thanks to:
- The eight other rowers I got to race with in this regatta and all my other teammates there, all who did a phenomenal job and raced their butts off
- The coaches who were on site in Chicago, who helped me with my race plan, hair, and anxiety. I am full of appreciation for them.
- Everyone who helped put on the regatta and competed against us. It felt really well organized and very fun (and even ran a couple minutes early, which is practically unheard of!!)
- Glitter mixed with hair gel, Nina’s tattoo markers, and the various baby ducklings on the course, among other things

It meant the world to me that my girls and I made it to semis, and that we were seeded second for them. I am so proud of our performance. This regatta has and will continue to shape the way I see 1k races. I’m forever appreciative to anyone who saw me through this learning curve and pushed with me.
