Chef @realchefdeblee is the founder of Korean pub @yicha_la and Korean market and café @eatmokja in Highland Park, and she catered @gyopo.us’ 8th Annual Chuseok Benefit this year! 👩‍🍳🌕

GYOPO is a volunteer-powered nonprofit that brings together artists, creatives, and cultural producers from the Korean diaspora through free programs, exhibitions, talks, screenings, and community events in LA and beyond. Their annual Chuseok Benefit helps fund that programming and brings the community together around one of Korea’s biggest holidays.

About last night. Words cannot describe the feelings of my heart. This is why I love this community. Less than a year ago I had the pleasure to meet @alansanz_c and the team at @mirate.losangeles and @daisy.losangeles. What started as two restaurants presenting dishes at an event together immediately blossomed into friendship and love for this industry. We started going to one another’s restaurants on our night off and before you knew the collab of my dreams began. 🇲🇽 Thank you to all who showed up, supported and most important celebrated with us. Special thanks to @beerghost and @phillycheesecake for making the cocktails ebb and flow with our food. And not pictured here but need to shoutout to my right hands @jechrispy and @_serious_eats with the kitchen team for holding the kitchen down. Last night was proof in the pudding that we are better together. Til next time!

✨ Abalone Aguachile, sashimi style, Korean melon, lime
✨ Hwe Tostada, salmon, tuna, hamachi, K-chile crisp, perilla sesame salad
