Another year. 🎉

Thank you for allowing me to experience such a monumental leap forward in the past 365 days, God.

Through every high + low, you've truly propelled me forward, and taken care of my heart. It's been surreal to witness seeds that were planted soooo many years ago sprout up and come to fruit, seemingly all at once. I understand it now. ✨

Today I'm grateful for health, life, strength, greater clarity in my purpose, my beautiful family, and all of the genuine folks in my community who have shown up to love + care about me in so many ways!

If I never gained anything else from this life, I'd still be the richest man in town.

Peace family. ✨ It’s been a few years since I’ve posted, and life has been in motion. As I approach a year with @campaignzero, I return in gratitude - for Team CZ, our partners, friends, and everyone I’ve had the honor to build with since last summer. There are too many special moments to name, but one truth keeps rising, steady as breath:

I’m here by choice, not by chance.

As Creative Director, I’ve had the honor of leading the creative for “Black History Month @ 100” (@bhm100). It was by choice that Dr. Carter G. Woodson began Negro History Week in 1926, gathering teachers, churches, and community to declare: we will remember ourselves, and tell the world. And a century later, through the labor and love of Black scholars, educators, and communities, that choice continues to deepen + expand.

Since January ’26, BHM100 has been on the move - from teach-ins and lectures to intergenerational workshops, from K–12 curriculum to breaking bread together, in Dr. Brandon Terry’s words, we’re learning to hold “the beauty and the ugliness of the world without forcing ourselves into false choices.” Now, “#KeepIt100” lives beyond February: a shared choice on what we will uplift, protect, and pass on.

For me, it's personal. My maternal great-great-grandfather, Peter, a freedman, chose to purchase my great-great-grandmother Emily’s freedom from Southern slaveholders, and built a life with her. Four generations later, here I am - living proof of that decision.

By choice, not by chance.

And now, it’s on us. We’re living in a moment that demands consequential choices: who we will be, what we will believe about the world and the future. Today, I choose truth. I choose faith, hope, determination, resourcefulness, gratitude, enduring love. I choose to use my abilities + creativity to empower the next generation—to do good, seek justice, and relieve the oppressed. I choose to trust God with my life.
