ICONIC × DEHAZED brings together a diverse selection of contemporary photographic works exploring the poetic, unexpected and sometimes surreal ways we see the world.
Moving between portraits, beauty, fashion, atmospheric landscapes, evocative still lifes and conceptual imagery, the exhibition invites us to slow down and look differently. The photographs transform familiar subjects into something more mysterious creating images that feel suspended between reality, memory and a dream. Across the exhibition, photography becomes a space for experimentation: underwater, human presence, landscapes, objects, light and texture come together to create distinct visual worlds.

I needed to create a version of this I can confidently print for some opportunities I’ll be applying for. The first one was so spontaneous that I had completely inadequate light. I truly appreciate the (mostly) positive response I got to the original, and I surely don’t expect everyone to engage again (or even to like this one as much as the other). I have always held my work to a high standard, both creatively and technically, and I wouldn’t be true to myself if I didn’t re-shoot this. It’s how I’m built (maybe it’s being a musician first because demos and rehearsals and new arrangements are part of the process). For now they will both live on my grid. Comparisons and standards aside, I want to once again say I’m grateful to everyone who has encouraged me to be as weird and brave as I want to be. I hope you feel free to be weird and brave too. by @rebecca.congleton

On the contrary. I don’t think I have quite ENOUGH photos of myself slumped over or being otherwise absurd, while Ferguson looks at the camera like this. by @rebecca.congleton

Sleep Walking

I can’t believe how long it’s been since I pulled out my @lensbabyusa Trio 28. This is the first time I’ve used it for this project! I think I’ve been missing out.

I shot with this clothesline setup a couple times today. The first time was with my trusty Canon RF 50mm, while there was heavy cloud cover (I love what I shot then too). I’ll share those tomorrow. by @rebecca.congleton

Frying | Her Summer Body

Maybe it’s because I have capital punishment on my mind right now, but months later, I finally decided to post these, and specifically the first one, as a sort of rebellion against both the idea of “bad bodies” and our current dystopian society. I don’t know why putting a shower cap on my face with wires in the background makes this remind me of an electric chair, but that’s what it’s like in my brain. by @rebecca.congleton

The Fix
-An Americana Hazing-
the ideal has become the abuse

October is DV Awareness month, and I don’t take that lightly. I’m a survivor. I’ve shared about that many times. In this current exploration, I’ve chosen to use hazing, discomfort, and abuse as a metaphor for what it feels like to be an American woman in 2026.

It feels like going back in time. It feels like being gaslit every day. It feels like not being able to trust anything men say. It feels like fury. It feels like wanting a woman in charge for once. It feels like 1955. It feels like paying much too high a price for EVERYTHING. It feels like knowing you don’t have any choice but to sit there and take it. It feels like someone repeatedly telling you it’s the last time they’ll do it. It feels like lies and war and violence where hope once lived. by @rebecca.congleton
