I haven’t been able to bring myself to post this. It still doesn’t feel real. My darling girl, one of my closest and dearest friends Dawn Didawick has left us. There is too much to say, quite frankly. Over twenty years of plays, dinners, lunches, summer corn, laying by the pool, parties, Thanksgivings and Christmases together… we laughed so hard our rib cages would be sore. We cried together, held each other and I truly believe she was an angel on earth. I will miss her with every breath I take. I’ve saved every single voicemail you’ve ever left me, every opening night card, Christmas card, email, everything. I can’t believe I won’t get another. But man, was I the luckiest gal in the world to be in your orbit. You changed me forever and I carry you in my heart always. It was impossible to pick photos of us- there are literally thousands of them.
My heart is with her husband of 47 years, my dear friend Harry. I love you, Harry. Your love showed me and all of us lucky to be near what true love really is. And it was glorious to bear witness to it.
I love you, Dawnie. I’ll always think of you when I have the pot on. Thank you for being such an incredible friend to me.
