This is like a Sam & Cat fan fic (?). I really enjoyed this second-chance romance. It’s funny, sexy, layered—and yes, a little toxic in a way that feels intentional and real. Andy and Nikki have a lot to untangle between them, and as young adults navigating fame, influence, and a hidden relationship in the chaos of Hollywood, it makes sense that parts of them—and their relationship—fractured along the way. It ended on a happy, high note. The side characters are memorable, and the narrator for the audiobook, Rebecca Mozo, was fantastic! She read the “room” and lines perfectly!

Childhood Celebrities ✅ Messy Celebrity ✅ Second Chance ✅ Small Town ✅ What I wasn’t expecting was the depth of vulnerability and complex relationship that we got to examine between the two FMCs, Andy and Nikki. Their backstory set us up for a lot of dynamics…growing up in the spotlight, discovering your sexuality, coming out in public, and all with your co-star? Already, boom. Then you add on the pressures of living that Hollywood life, Nikki’s turn to drugs and alcohol, Andy’s insecurities around trying to catch the next big role while dealing with a manager who embezzled all her money…quite the recipe! One thing they never lacked was their chemistry. But even that became an unhealthy way they worked through their issues and they found themselves in a toxic place. 6 years after Andy disappeared without a word, they are reunited and I really enjoyed how Jennifer Dugan peeled back the layers of all the little moments and truths of what happened. The healing here was really beautiful. 🎧I enjoyed the performance from Rebecca Mozo, this was my first from her!
