“Two Twelve Subwoofer” by Saliva Grey & 99zed (Part 1) - loved playing drums to this track, the groove is so heavy and the flows are like water. I tried to find videos of this song live but haven’t found any yet. Playing this live would be a ton of fun.

My drum cover of “First Light” by Xavier Wulf (part one). The fast tempo of this one makes for fun fills and it’s a good challenge to keep up with. Really honing in full kit mix with the tools I’ve got. I’m learning that, in some cases, it works well to use a shelf eq on the low frequencies of the toms to retain punchiness and tone without the fundamental frequencies overpowering the mix. I’m always learning new methods of mixing, editing, and playing, and this one slaps. I also stayed away from gating on the drums, even the snare. I am finding more and more that gating is not always applicable in heavy music and sometimes it’s better to go lighter on compressors and distressors and let the transients be. I am always happy to share knowledge and tips and I hope to help other drummers like me to get their drums sounding crispy, no matter what equipment they have.

Part 2 drum cover of “First Light” by Xavier Wulf. I’ve got a lot of new original music coming your way soon - playthrough of my band’s song “Foundation” coming very soon, and a new original release on DSPs coming your way very soon… very excited for that. Love playing this song! #xavierwulf #trapdrummer #sonordrums #promarkdrumsticks #sonordrumco @xavierwulf by @recet.music

Jamming with Soap.’s latest track “AWAY” (part 2). If you don’t already know about @soap.v … ya do now (listen to his music - he might be your new favorite rapper (his music is very underrated). #sonordrumco #sabiancymbals_official #promarkdrumsticks #remodrumheads #trapdrummer @sonordrumco @promarksticks by @recet.music

Jamming on my @sonordrumco SQ2 Kit. Love the way this sounds, and the sapphire sparkle finish is so elegant. The Benny Greb signature snare paired with it absolutely CRACKS. Playing high quality instruments makes the love for the craft even greater. #sonordrums #sonordrumco #bennygreb #bennygrebsnare #promarkdrumsticks by @recet.music

99zed & Saliva Grey’s new track titled “i left my drill in baghdad” - this drum cover challenged me with a new style and the song has enough space in the programmed drums to layer acoustic drums without it sounding muddy. Didn’t need to stem out and mute the original drums and instead kept them as an accent in tandem with the kit. Wanted to bring in the hi hats as 8ths in Sally G’s verse to really push the beat and lift the movement of the groove, and I like the way it turned out. Mixed this cover drums-forward to exaggerate the details of the drums. Mixed live, the drums would be probably be dialed back a few dB less than here to make room for vocals. This is about halfway through the song - 99zed’s verse post coming soon (along with part 2 of their song Two Twelve Subwoofer). This track is nasty. #sabiancymbals #promarkdrumsticks #promarksticks #zildjianfamily #trapdrummer @99zedxo @salivagrey by @recet.music

Time for a new batter head on the Benny Greb signature snare (first gen) by Sonor. Finally swapped out the stock head after a while (too long). This drum sounds GREAT. New head is the Evan’s HD Dry. Love watching timelapse videos of stuff like drum tuning. So satisfying (and makes you forget about the real time work that goes into tuning). #sonordrums #bennygreb #evansdrumheads #sonordrumco #evansheads @sonordrumco @evansdrumheads by @recet.music

“Jeep” by Token and TERROR REID - this song is bonkers. Love playing it. I’ve enjoyed Token’s music for a while, starting with “Between Somewhere”. Would love to perform this live. Before I knew who TERROR REID was, I knew him as Getter (who didn’t), specifically from his album “Visceral”. Love that album - some of my favorite EDM ever - throws me back to when I attended DU for music production.

Got to about -6 LUFs on this mix (hopefully it doesn’t ~sound~ like it). Going for that clipped sound especially when the kick and snare smack at the same time - all while still retaining the punch of the kick and snare.

Part 1 of @soap.v ‘s new song “AWAY” - Soap’s flows are always insane and I love his music. This beat is insane and the bass in this mix is huge. This dude is very talented and he even mixed this song himself. Happy Friday! #trapdrummer #drumcovers #drumcover #sonordrums #sabiancymbals @sonordrumco @promarksticks by @recet.music

This song “I Tuck Glocks Not Chains” by @870glizzy ft. @1nonly … the drums, vocals, mix, 808s - all of it hits so heavy. On his latest project “BAMN”, this song is featured alongside tracks like “Do you fwh or not ?”, where he demonstrates a greater level of versatility with melodic vocals, followed by even more heavy sounds like “GANK”. If you like this cover, you should check out his latest project as well. #870glizzy #trapdrummer #drumcover #sonordrums #sonordrumco @sonordrumco by @recet.music
