Big shout out to my homie @happyjoelucky39 for hitting me off with some record store stickers that he has collected from his travels while he was on some diggin missions. Which has definitely inspired me that I need to pick up some more stickers myself while at these record stores as well. Most of them have store stickers up at the front counter! #recordstore #recordstores #stickers #thankyou by @recordstoreguy

Black Sunday is the second studio album by hip-hop group Cypress Hill. It was released on July 20, 1993, by Ruffhouse and Columbia Records, and proved as successful as their debut, Cypress Hill. The album debuted at No. 1 on the US Billboard 200, selling 261,000 copies in its first week of sales and became the highest Soundscan recording for a hip-hop group at the time. Also, with their previous album, Cypress Hill, still in the charts, they became the first hip-hop group ever to have two albums in the Top 10 of the U.S. Billboard 200 at the same time. The album went quadruple platinum in the U.S. with 3.4 million units sold. The first single, “Insane in the Brain”, became a crossover hit. A clean censored version of the album was also made which removes the song “A to the K”. The song “Hand on the Glock” is a re-recorded version of the track “Hand on the Pump” from the debut album Cypress Hill. On July 20, 2023, an expanded edition of the album was released to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the album, with five additional songs.#cypresshill #soulassassins #compactdisc #cdcollector #cdcollection by @recordstoreguy

Mecca and the Soul Brother is the 1992 debut album from hip-hop duo Pete Rock & CL Smooth. The album contains their best known song, “They Reminisce Over You (T.R.O.Y.)”. Mecca and the Soul Brother has been widely acclaimed as one of the greatest hip hop albums of all time. The album was mostly produced by Pete Rock and executive produced by DJ Eddie F of Heavy D & the Boyz (co-group member with Trouble T-Roy). The Main Ingredient is the second album by Pete Rock & CL Smooth, released on November 8, 1994. It is the duo’s last studio album to date. “I Got A Love” was the album’s lead off single, followed by “Take You There” and “Searching”, released in 1995. That same year, the duo appeared in a well received Sprite commercial; however, they soon announced their breaking up citing creative difference. Back to back classics!#peterockandclsmooth #elektrarecords #compactdisc #cdcollector #cdcollection by @recordstoreguy

Psychoanalysis: What Is It? marked the solo debut of Prince Paul, originally released in 1996 before being reissued by Tommy Boy Records in 1997 with new artwork and three bonus tracks. Blending hip-hop, trip-hop, dark humor, skits, and cinematic production, the album challenged expectations upon release but has since earned the recognition it deserved. It was later named one of the “50 Albums That Were Unfairly Hated On” and ranked among the greatest trip-hop albums of all time. Pictured here is the Tommy Boy Records CD reissue featuring the expanded track listing with three exclusive bonus tracks—a must-have for Prince Paul fans and collectors alike.#princepaul #nativetongues #compactdisc #cdcollector #cdcollection by @recordstoreguy

A Future Without a Past… is the groundbreaking 1991 debut album from Leaders of the New School, released on Elektra Records. The album introduced the world to the incredible chemistry of Busta Rhymes, Charlie Brown, Dinco D, and DJ Cut Monitor Milo. With production from the group alongside Eric “Vietnam” Sadler, John Gamble, Dante Ross, Geeby Dajani, and The Vibe Chemist Backspin, the album delivered unforgettable tracks like “Case of the P.T.A.,” “Sobb Story,” and “The International Zone Coaster.” A true golden era hip-hop classic that helped launch one of the greatest MCs of all time while proving Leaders of the New School were one of the most innovative crews of the early ’90s. Essential listening. #leadersofthenewschool #nativetongues #compactdisc #cdcollector #cdcollection by @recordstoreguy

Four classics. One legendary run. Digital Underground’s first four Tommy Boy Records’ CD releases are still some of the most creative, funky, and original albums hip-hop has ever produced. From the groundbreaking Sex Packets and This Is an E.P. Release to Sons of the P and The Body-Hat Syndrome, Shock G and the crew built a sound that was completely their own, equal parts P-Funk, humor, musicianship, and lyrical skill. This Is an E.P. Release also introduced many fans to an early appearance from 2Pac on “Same Song.” These CDs will always have a place in my collection. 💿#digitalunderground #ripshockg #compactdisc #cdcollector #cdcollection by @recordstoreguy

2nd visit @peachesrecords and it is still one of the most unique spots in my opinion. All sealed copies of new and old pressings. Used to be a diner, turned into a record store. @themamamiax used to work here and you can see some of the No Limit plaques on the wall. A definite must stop and visit stores. #cdcollector #diggininthecrates #recordstore #cdcollection #vinylcollector by @recordstoreguy
