What a great weekend hanging with our buddies at @tollchester. Everyone did so well!

I’m also so proud of Cedar who ran this event as his first ever lure course 🤩.

I only expected him to get about 15ft and then forget why he was there but apparently he does have a pray drive!

Cedar and his cousin Rooster are now only one run away from getting their CA title✨

Congrats to @pandathetoller and @tollerflame on their CAX titles and congrats to Rosie on her CA!! Go team Tollchester! by @redcedarthetoller

Meet the newest member of the clan 🐶🐾

This is Rooster, my sister’s newly adopted 2-year-old Duck Toller. He’s only been home a month and has already won her over completely.

Fun fact: he’s my dog’s cousin! Very different personalities, but both aaaaabsolutely obsessed with water 🌊

Roo is much more polite about refusing to leave the beach than Cedar though💕

Welcome to the family Roo!!!

Cedar had lots of big feelings today.

I miscommunicated a quick meet and greet with his two dog besties that looked to Cedar like it was going to be an epic play date with his favourite gang.

Cue full meltdown.

A year ago I probably would have felt extremely embarrassed, overwhelmed, and confused by his reaction. But today, I was in a head space to recognize it was a reaction to my mistake. I unintentionally signaled something different than what actually happened.

Im learning. I know I’ll make more mistakes, but I also know how far we’ve come. From having big feelings about every dog interaction to moments like this being rare.

We are getting better at understanding each other and learning what we both need when we’re overwhelmed. For me, it’s his full body Cedar slams that pick my spirits up and for Cedar, it’s a long walk in the woods and an aesthetic pee 💕

Thank you, Cedar🥹 I passed through this patch of dried grass about a thousand times as a kid but to see it as you do, through your pure joy and appreciation, is healing me in ways I never imagined. I love you so much🧡

After 1.5 years, we finally made it back to British Columbia ❤️
The trip came sooner than planned, but he’s been loving every minute — so proud of my little travel buddy and cant wait to dig into our BC adventures! 🐾

Huge day for Cedar — he passed his CGN test!
The Canine Good Neighbour (CGN) is a test run by the CKC that assesses whether a dog can stay calm, focused, and responsive to their handler in distracting or unexpected situations.

Cedar has been working hard for about a year and a half, and I honestly didn’t expect him to do this well — especially in such a chaotic environment! Most CGN tests are held in quieter venues, but this one was at the Canadian Pet Expo… aka a total sensory overload. So many dogs, people, smells, noises — it was A LOT.

If you had asked me yesterday, I would’ve said it would probably be too much for him and we’d have to leave early. But he proved me wrong — he held it together and stayed connected with me the entire time. I would’ve been proud no matter what the outcome, but I’m beyond thrilled we get to celebrate this win together.

Way to go, Cedar — you’ve come such a long way!
