Happy to have many this small contribution to the exhibition THE OTHER SIDE OF THE MOUNTAIN @amoskonst inspired by the incredible work of @minnasalami_ the exhibition is curated by Marcia Harvey Isaksson (Southnord) and Katariina Timonen (Amos Rex). The exhibition features the work of contemporary artists Igshaan Adams, Adji Dieye, Lungiswa Gqunta, Emeka Ogboh, Akinbode Akinbiyi, Liisa-Irmelen Liwata, Loulou Cherinet, Sandra Mujinga, Ibrahim Mahama, Jeannette Ehlers and Karl Ohiri. The name of the exhibition comes from a story told by Minna Salami in the introduction to her book Sensuous Knowledge – A Black Feminist Approach for Everyone. This public commission takes its title from the legendary Malian musician Ali Farka Touré‘s album Voyageur. Commissioned by the city of Naples and curated by Vincenzo Trione. It will stay in the public square till November 18th and make its journey to Ghana where it will also be shown in multiple public spaces. The work is supported by @bam__arte most importantly the Mayor of Naples @gaetano.manfredi the work invited us to collectively reflect on the crisis of the Mediterranean while drawing in our shared historical conditions.
