What do you do when you know God is there… but you can’t hear Him?

When the lies get louder.
The pressure gets heavier.
And everything around you is trying to convince you that you’ve been left alone.

You pray.
You fight.
You call His name.

And still…

“God, where are You?”

Some battles don’t begin with victory.
Sometimes, there’s a moment in the middle where all you can hear is the enemy.

But the story isn’t over.

PART 1.

Have you ever been here?

The funniest part is we’re wearing matching outfits, but we did NOT plan this at all 🤣🤣🤣 he was making up dance moves on the fly hearing the song for the first time 🔥 by @redeemednate

Will we still trust God when things aren’t going the way we hoped? Even in the middle of the storm, we can trust that God is with us. He sees what we can’t see, knows exactly what we need, and is faithful through it all. Keep trusting. Keep believing.

THIS is why we do what we do!🙏🏽⚡️First, THANK YOU to every person who showed up Saturday! Whether you worshipped, served, prayed, brought a friend or simply came needing a safe place to breathe…you helped create what AFTER AMEN is all about.

So many people are suffering in silence…going home to environments that don’t feel safe, showing up to places that drain them, carrying grief nobody sees and fighting battles behind smiles. Isolation will convince you nobody cares. Community reminds you that you were never meant to carry life alone.

That’s why AFTER AMEN exists..to create the experiences and safe spaces the soul needs. Because church is bigger than a building. The church is people. The church is community. And family doesn’t always require the same blood or last name!

If you haven’t found your people yet, don’t confuse “I haven’t found it” with “it doesn’t exist.” ❤️

You don’t have to do life alone! BEYOND THE FOUR WALLS. ⚡️🙏🏽 by @redeemednate

Praise God for His faithfulness! 🙌🏾

Here’s a short recap of the first-ever Christian dance class at McLean Bible Church!💃🏾🔥

This was all held at @mbcmoco! I had the opportunity to teach Line Country & Afrobeat, all centered around Christ. By God’s grace, we also got to share the new McLean vision: 1, 5, 10, 20 and what it looks like to pursue the Great Commission through making disciples.

We had 15–20 people come from different MBC campuses and outside of MBC. We shared the Gospel, opened God’s Word, and walked through Luke’s account of Jesus calling His disciples to let down their nets and trust Him.

It was a beautiful time of fellowship, worship, movement, and the Word. 🙏🏾

This was also a glimpse of what MBC MoCo Young Adults (YA) is about: creating a Christ-centered community for young adults to connect, grow in God’s Word, build meaningful relationships, and live on mission together. @mbcmocoya

🍂 MBC MoCo YA Fall Kickoff — September 24!

I’m praying that, by God’s grace and according to His will, we’ll have more opportunities to preach the Gospel through dance and other avenues at MoCo and across the other campuses.

Dance is an avenue. Christ is the message. 🙏🏾

Come be part of what God is doing! Share this with someone who should join us! 🙌🏾

Grateful and big shoutout to @benpalm_ and @thegatheringguidedc again for showing such love and support to both @dancinglikedavidd and @mbcmocoya

@redeemednate couldn’t find a dance class that was also Christian.

There were plenty of dance studios around the DMV. But nowhere to get real dance training set to clean, biblically based music. He wasn’t trying to start anything. He just wanted somewhere to worship the Lord through dance.

Then a friend came up to him and told him he should start a dance company called Dancing Like David.

He prayed about it that day, and again a few days later. What he came away with was a yes, but it had to be different than other dance classes. It had to be open to anyone, wherever they were coming from, even if they needed a ride to get there.

And he wasn’t going to make money from it.

Nate determined it wasn’t going to be a dance organization that happened to build community. It was going to first be a community, and the dance was the bonus.

The name Dancing Like David comes after King David, who danced before the Lord in public and didn’t care how he looked.

It grew quickly. Nate knew four dance styles back then. He knows ten now.

His goal was always to know the people who show up, whether or not they ever came back to another class.

Whether or not there’s a class that week, the group prays for each other and checks in.
Teenagers come. Young adults come. Parents come, and single parents bring their kids.

A lot of the dances physically can’t be done alone. There’s line work where everyone has to hit the same count or it falls apart. But people connect the most when they’re messing up, because that’s when they have to turn and ask someone for help.

But even if you do mess up, who cares? You get to dance like David.

The enemy thought the pressure would make you quit…
he wasn’t expecting you to PRAISE.

Spiritual warfare doesn’t always look like victory in the beginning.

Sometimes you’re surrounded.
Sometimes God feels silent.
Sometimes the enemy’s voice feels louder than everything you believe.

But then you decide to worship anyway.

Not because the battle is over.
Not because everything suddenly makes sense.
But because your praise was never dependent on what you could see.

And when the enemy realizes the warfare isn’t stopping your worship…

everything begins to shift.

Watch until the end. ✝️

If you’ve ever praised God while you were STILL in the battle, comment “ANYWAY.” 👇🏾
