THIS is why we do what we do!🙏🏽⚡️First, THANK YOU to every person who showed up Saturday! Whether you worshipped, served, prayed, brought a friend or simply came needing a safe place to breathe…you helped create what AFTER AMEN is all about.

So many people are suffering in silence…going home to environments that don’t feel safe, showing up to places that drain them, carrying grief nobody sees and fighting battles behind smiles. Isolation will convince you nobody cares. Community reminds you that you were never meant to carry life alone.

That’s why AFTER AMEN exists..to create the experiences and safe spaces the soul needs. Because church is bigger than a building. The church is people. The church is community. And family doesn’t always require the same blood or last name!

If you haven’t found your people yet, don’t confuse “I haven’t found it” with “it doesn’t exist.” ❤️

2 DAYS. ONE ROOM. COME AS YOU ARE‼️

Life gets loud. We work. We serve. We take care of people. We carry things nobody knows about. And somewhere in the middle of constantly moving, it becomes easy to neglect our spirit, our community and the relationships that remind us we don’t have to carry life alone.

You can be surrounded by people and still have nowhere safe to put what you’re feeling. And sometimes one conversation, one connection or one safe room can interrupt a life changing decision. That’s part of why AFTER AMEN exists…to remind people that your life has value, your presence matters and there is still purpose ahead of you.

Whether you’ve believed your whole life, you’re rebuilding your relationship with God, you’ve been hurt by church, you have questions or you don’t believe at all…you are welcome in the room.

Because community shouldn’t require you to pretend. And faith shouldn’t only exist inside four walls.

Sometimes we need to intentionally step away from the noise long enough to worship, reflect, connect, breathe and remember what actually matters.

BEYOND ROUTINE. INTO RELATIONSHIP.

Whew, life lately.
I can’t even begin to understand it for myself, let alone describe it to other people. You know what?
That’s okay.

Living under my ‘own roof’ and no longer under my parents’ roof has positioned me to truly ask myself where did I always feel secured in? Knowing that I was living under my parents’ roof, it felt like it was easier to trust God with my circumstances, finances, working, finding a job, + the whole 9 yards of life.

But imma keep it a buck.
it’s been hard. seen myself behind bills 😮‍💨
I’ve witnessed myself crash out and feel so out place.

Now that I’m out here.
Did I ever believe in the idea “oh God got me fosho!”

My bestfriend says occasionally, “a faith trusted is a faith tested.”

God is gonna test what He entrust in your hands.

Until this happens to us, during the test our hearts + where we placed our security of life are truly exposed.

@redeemednate couldn’t find a dance class that was also Christian.

There were plenty of dance studios around the DMV. But nowhere to get real dance training set to clean, biblically based music. He wasn’t trying to start anything. He just wanted somewhere to worship the Lord through dance.

Then a friend came up to him and told him he should start a dance company called Dancing Like David.

He prayed about it that day, and again a few days later. What he came away with was a yes, but it had to be different than other dance classes. It had to be open to anyone, wherever they were coming from, even if they needed a ride to get there.

And he wasn’t going to make money from it.

Nate determined it wasn’t going to be a dance organization that happened to build community. It was going to first be a community, and the dance was the bonus.

The name Dancing Like David comes after King David, who danced before the Lord in public and didn’t care how he looked.

It grew quickly. Nate knew four dance styles back then. He knows ten now.

His goal was always to know the people who show up, whether or not they ever came back to another class.

Whether or not there’s a class that week, the group prays for each other and checks in.
Teenagers come. Young adults come. Parents come, and single parents bring their kids.

A lot of the dances physically can’t be done alone. There’s line work where everyone has to hit the same count or it falls apart. But people connect the most when they’re messing up, because that’s when they have to turn and ask someone for help.

But even if you do mess up, who cares? You get to dance like David.

The enemy thought the pressure would make you quit…
he wasn’t expecting you to PRAISE.

Spiritual warfare doesn’t always look like victory in the beginning.

Sometimes you’re surrounded.
Sometimes God feels silent.
Sometimes the enemy’s voice feels louder than everything you believe.

But then you decide to worship anyway.

Not because the battle is over.
Not because everything suddenly makes sense.
But because your praise was never dependent on what you could see.

And when the enemy realizes the warfare isn’t stopping your worship…

everything begins to shift.
