Weekly Wrap Up or the Week That Was

Or in this case, two weeks.

And that possibly makes the lack of finishes even more stark, give my past reading rate.

But I've been sick. Quite sick. 40 degree fever sick. For over 2 weeks now. And as a result of the brain fog I simply have has no desire (or concentration) to pick up a book. Any book. But that is life. I am feeling alot better now. Not 100% by any stretch, but at least now I feel alive and have even managed a few pages over the last couple of days.

Onwards and upwards.

The exciting news is that my copy of The Rouse arrived and so you just know I started that bad boy. Even if 20 pages is actually nothing - it would be used a weapon, no lie. by @redreadingroom

Weekly Wrap Up or The Week That Was

Well, spring is definitely here. Lighter days and pollen trying to take out the general population. Some would argue that that is the beginning of the reading less season - but audio books while poodling around outside is what im here for!

Ive even gone so far as to take a days leave this week to leave The Rouse.... if only it wasnt so delayed 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🫣 by @redreadingroom

We are fast approaching the final quarter of the year. Not sure how I feel about that, but I do know that these next three months always fly by. by @redreadingroom

Booksale Haul

So traditionally, this particular annual booksale is a favourite of mine. Every year its fill a bag for a set price and so it usually makes it less that a dollar a book. Usually it is a chaotic shoulder to shoulder mess of people grabbing for the same things while giving recommendations to whoever will listen. Usually this means I take chances and find new to me authors.

Unfortunately not this year. This year they changed the format. No more bag price, only priced per book. Which while not the end of the world, when coupled with the location and the generally anger inducing slog it is to get there in after work traffic, it suddenly made it a far less exciting prospect.

But, after a week of will she, won't she (sorry Amelia, you must have been sick of me by Friday), I decided to go, and I found some things - I'm obviously of a bit of a kick when it comes to medical/plague themes. It certainly wasnt the same sale it usually is though. I think most of the other die hards that show up on a Friday with thier bags ready to fill with bargains made the call not to go. It made it an odd experience to hunt through the books with no one standing on either side offering opinions.

Ah well, we'll see if they change back next year I guess. by @redreadingroom
