PSA: Equal Treatment

This PSA is in light of my two years as the @atlhawks chaplain and my contribution to Men's Mental Health Month–and beyond. Men are human and deserve the dignity ascribed to them by God, be they millionaires or not.

WORDS MATTER!!!

What is said to the players in the media and from the crowd does affect their mental health, and what is said to men overall matters. I am here for Equal Treatment; what about you?

Avarice:
Is a formal word for a selfish hunger for money, power, or possessions.

MENTAL HEALTH AFFECTS:
Avarice is characterized by an insatiable, excessive desire for more—typically money, possessions, or status—and is psychologically associated with negative outcomes like lower well-being, depression, anxiety, and heightened aggression. It often leads to reduced empathy, impaired relationships, and ethical erosion, while simultaneously driving high productivity, goal attainment, and increased income.

High levels of greed are linked to anxiety, stress, exhaustion, and depression because the pursuit of "more" rarely leads to feelings of satisfaction.

The pursuit of greed can create a "tunnel vision" (dopamine-chasing cycle), where individuals focus only on accumulation.

Extreme Greed: An endless urge to collect more than you ever need. (Seen in Yis'rael often specifically manna and emphasized in Yeshua's teaching to focus on the day and seek first the kingdom)

Hoarding: A focus on holding tightly onto money rather than sharing or spending it.
(Crisis in the book of Judges and 2 Kings 6:28-29)

Genesis 2: “to Adam before Eve comes, take what you see in my beauty and of my hand and flourish 'her' (the ground) and all untended areas of all creation bring full flourishing. This capture on camera will be my greatest legacy 😭. Seeing my son look up with joy after moving his tassel and throwing his cap in the air got me. His joy has been smothered a lot over the past years, and the Lord allowed me to see his truest self in a full moment and to capture it. Pray (war and fast for him) for Zayne-Baltimore; he is a child of joy, but he has heard voices since he was 2... Outside this realm, speak lies to him. I love this kid, and I love that I got to see and capture his joy 😭. by @redrev
