Most business owners get overwhelmed because they try to fix everything at once. Instead, here’s a step-by-step mini framework to eliminate just one slowdown this month:

Step 1 – Audit Your Workflow

Spend one hour this week writing down everything you did for your business. Circle anything you repeated twice or more. That’s your slowdown.

Step 2 – Pick ONE Fix

	•	Service business? Replace back-and-forth texting with Calendly or Acuity.
	•	E-commerce? Turn on abandoned cart emails in Shopify or Klaviyo (takes <15 minutes).
	•	Freelancers/consultants? Create one template proposal in Google Docs/Canva and reuse it.

Step 3 – Automate & Test

	•	Set it up once.
	•	Run a test on yourself (book your own appointment, leave an item in cart, send yourself a proposal).
	•	Adjust wording/design if needed.

Step 4 – Track the Win

Write down how many hours you saved (or how many missed sales you recovered). Even saving 2 hours a week = 100+ hours a year back in your pocket.

Making more room in your day is a useful result too.

Pick one repetitive task. Time how long it takes today, then try an AI-assisted version and include the time you spend reviewing and correcting it.

If it actually saves time, decide what you’re giving that time back to.

What would you rather be working on?

You don’t have to hand your whole business to AI.

Start with one workflow you can actually describe. What goes in? What should come out? Where does someone need to review the result?

Run a small test with made-up or approved data. Compare the output with how you handle the task today.

Which workflow would you test first?

Everybody wanted an agent. Nobody knew they were hiring themselves as management.

This week AI got real:

01 · The White House renamed AI “Super Intelligence” and launched a task force to match.
02 · Anthropic got 21x more startup applications in 48 hours. The fine print says they can build similar or competing tech
03 · AI agents now act for you: Meta Muse, OpenAI Dots, and Covo bringing AI into your social bio.
04 · Microsoft and other tech companies were cut off from green-card sponsorship

Tech is moving faster than the training. Don’t get left in that gap.

Did AI actually help with your work this week?

Here’s a simple way to keep track: make two columns, “Helped” and “Had to fix.”

An example could be: it outlined a meeting, but you had to correct a fact and adjust the priorities. That tells you something useful about both the drafting and the review the task still needs.

Keep those notes close to the work. Over time, you can see which tasks are worth repeating with AI and where the checking takes more effort than you expected.

Write one win and one correction.

Too many tools to learn? Give your learning a job.

Pick one problem that interests you, then use your research to move that project forward. A tutorial becomes more useful when you know what you’re trying to do with it.

A small practice project could be learning a spreadsheet formula. Study one example, then test the formula on five sample rows. Check the results yourself before using it on a bigger sheet.

When you get stuck, you have a specific question to investigate. That’s a more useful next step than collecting another list of tools.

Test one lesson on one small problem.

If it was up to me, I could stay behind the computer and keep building.

But the people who could use what I’m making have to know it exists.

You don’t need to share your entire life. Start with one thing you built. Explain the problem, who it helps and what you learned. Show a real result if you have one.

Then share it where those people already spend time. Give them something specific to respond to.

Share one thing you built this week.

“What are you working on?”

That’s a networking opener I can actually use. It gives the other person room to talk about something they care about.

The useful part comes after the question: listen for the problem they’re trying to solve. If they mention a project, a simple follow-up could be, “What’s been the hardest part?”

Now you have something real to talk about, and a better idea of whether your experience could help.

Ask this at your next event.

A better prompt in 3 parts. Here’s a simple way to work through it: name the goal, add useful context, then choose the help. Pick one task and try the steps. Which part would help you most? #PracticalAI #BuildInPublic #TechExplained by @redroostertec
