Reds signing Jazz Chisholm Jr? That’s what was proposed in an article by Bleacher Report’s Zachary D. Rymer ranking the best destinations for Jazz, naming the Reds as a top-5 fit.

Coming off a 19-HR, 41-SB year (.711 OPS, 1.7 rWAR) and a tough postseason, Rymer notes Jazz might seek a 1-year "prove-it" deal for 2027.

That’s where Cincy comes in:

"The Reds got an MLB-low -0.7 rWAR from the keystone this season, as well as a 90 wRC+ from the left side of the plate... Chisholm could help them address both issues with one signing."

He would be a 2.4 rWAR upgrade: Cincy’s 2B production was a league-worst -0.7 rWAR. Replacing that with Jazz’s 1.7 baseline is an obvious improvement.

The Reds 90 left handed hitter's wRC+ was 2nd-worst in MLB.

GABP’s short right-field porch is built for Jazz’s pull-side air-ball profile and 8.8% barrel rate.

Pairing Jazz’s 41 steals with Elly De La Cruz (both 95th+ percentile Sprint Speed) creates relentless pressure on opposing pitch clocks... only to face RBI merchant Sal Stewart 😳

Rymer acknowledges Cincy’s historical FA spending limits (max $64M for Castellanos/Moustakas), but a high-AAV 1-year pillow contract fills our biggest analytical holes without long-term risk.

The Reds have an insanely talented 2B prospect in Edwin Arroyo who has shown the flexibility to play multiple positions, this would all be assuming he could fit elsewhere on the field.

And that Matt McLain would be in Triple-A.

What do you guys think, should the Reds pull the trigger on a 1-year Jazz experiment?

If you hate this idea by Bleacher Report, comment one name you would like to see the Reds go acquire this off-season.

SAL STEWART IS A 2026 MLB ALL-ROOKIE. 🏆

Thirty-two homers and 112 RBI in his first full year in Cincinnati, at the ripe old age of 22.

The season ended 75-87, but this is the part worth keeping. Elly, Burns, Greene, and now Sal. Don't jinx it — just enjoy it.

JARREN DURAN TO CINCINNATI?

The former All-Star outfielder is being floated as a potential target by Drew Koch, a writer for Fansided's Blog Red Machine.

Koch explored Duran as a change-of-scenery opportunity that the Reds should be exploring after a 75-87 finish in 2026 left them 28 games behind the first place Brewers.

Duran is an unrestricted free-agent after the 2028 season, so the Reds would get 2 seasons (if there was no lockout... which it's looking like there will be)

The Reds outfield has needed some help, and with the exit of TJ Friedl and Wil Benson there could be flexibility to add a name to compliment Dane Myers, Blake Dunn, Carlos Jorge, Spencer Steer, and Hector Rodriguez.

What do you guys think?

BREAKING: Elly De La Cruz hit his 30th home run tonight and is now just ONE stolen base away from joining the 30/30 club 🔥🔥

Three players in Cincinnati Reds franchise history have achieved a 30-30 season, recording at least 30 home runs and 30 stolen bases in a single year.

1987: Eric Davis recorded 37 home runs and 50 stolen bases in 129 games, becoming the first player in franchise history to reach the mark.

1996: Barry Larkin recorded 33 home runs and 36 stolen bases, becoming the first shortstop in Major League Baseball history to complete a 30-30 season.

2007: Brandon Phillips recorded 30 home runs and 32 stolen bases.

(Vote below which player is best in your opinion)

There’s been six other times where a player barelyyyy missed that super rare mark of a 30-30 season:

1973: Joe Morgan had 26 home runs and 67 stolen bases
1976: Joe Morgan had 27 home runs and 60 stolen bases
1986: Eric Davis with 27 home runs and 80 stolen bases (in 132 games btw)
1995: Reggie Sanders recorded 28 home runs and 36 stolen bases in 133 games
2002: Aaron Boone had 26 home runs and 32 stolen bases
2024: Elly De La Cruz recorded 25 home runs and 67 stolen bases

VOTTO FOR A VOLPE TRADE? 👀

Zach Pressnell discussed the Votto tweet in an article for
Sports Illustrated:

"Volpe wouldn't play short with Elly De La Cruz there, he'd slide to second, with Matt McLain — who hasn't been good since 2023 — possibly moving to the outfield. Volpe's worth 9.5 WAR in four years and hit .265 after his midseason recall."

Would you welcome Volpe to the Reds at second base?

What would you be willing to give up in a Reds trade?

Shohei Ohtani and Ke'Bryan Hayes in the same sentence has me sick 🤧🤧

After a historic 54-HR, 59-SB regular season with a 181 wRC+, Ohtani slashed .230/.347/.426 with a 30% K-rate across 73 postseason plate appearances, pitchers targeted him with 96+ mph fastballs high-and-tight, then buried sweepers away.

His chase rate spiked from 27.9% to 38.6%, and his zone-contact dropped from 78.5% to 68.9%.

Film showed his front hip opening early, flattening his bat angle and elevating his ground-ball rate to 52%.

Then, a Game 2 shoulder subluxation sapped his bat speed from 75.4 to 69.8 mph.

This smear campaign mirrors what Clayton Kershaw endured for a decade.

Critics weaponized Kershaw's 4.49 playoff ERA, ignoring his identical K-rate (26.8%) and a 3.86 FIP skewed by bullpen meltdowns and strand-rate variance.

In innings 1–5, Kershaw posted a 3.42 ERA; overexposure past 100 pitches inflated his late-inning numbers to 6.88.

Evaluating a generational talent over 70 plate appearances is the small-sample trap.

In July, a two-week slump is routine variance; in October, the media calls it a collapse.

Kershaw silenced the noise in 2020 with a 2.31 World Series ERA.

Shohei's shoulder will heal, his mechanics will sync, and the variance will flip.

BREAKING: Sal Stewart deserves every rookie award on the planet‼️😤

But he’s now almost officially your favorite baseball player's favorite baseball player 😎🔥

Local 12 (WKRC) announced the 22-year-old is up for NL Outstanding Rookie in the 2026 Players Choice Awards, alongside TJ Rumfield and JJ Weatherholt.

So the players vote on this, and it's no surprise they're voting for ya boy Salbert.

He led all rookies in home runs, rbi, and total bases… genuinely what else does anyone need to know⁉️

He also led the Reds in homers, RBI, hits, and games played after dropping 26 pounds in the offseason and calling Tito about what was expected of him.

Sal was named an NL All-Star, a member of the MLB All-Rookie Team and the only rookie nominated for the NL Hank Aaron Award that is given to the best overall offensive performer in each league.

Remember how loud the JJ Weatherholt propagandists were all season?

Pretty quiet now 🤣

Even Cardinals fans agree with Sal Supremacy.

What do you guys think Reds Nation, does Sal deserve this award?

The Reds really sucked in 2026.

In an article for Red Reporter, Wick Terrell published "a likely incomplete list of ways in which the Cincinnati Reds ranked dead last during the 2026 season"—a data set that "tells just about every possible story as to why they aren’t playing in playoff games this week".

FanGraphs data confirms Cincinnati finished 30th across 23 key metrics:

OFFENSIVE METRICS
• Strikeout Rate: 25.5% (30th)
• BABIP: .278 | Batting Avg: .229 (30th)
• On-Base Percentage: .305 (30th)
• Hits: 1,231 | Singles: 783 (30th)
• wRC+: 91 | OFF: -66.3 (30th)
• Swords: 277 | Hits Into Play: 3,536 (30th)

PITCHING METRICS
• Expected ERA (xERA): 4.92 (30th)
• BB/9: 4.19 | Total Walks: 668 (30th)
• Strikeout-to-Walk Ratio (K/BB): 1.94 (30th)
• SIERA: 4.52 | Exit Vel Allowed: 89.5 mph (30th)
• Barrel Rate Allowed: 8.7% (30th)

ERA (4.84), FIP (4.82), WHIP (1.44), Runs Allowed (826), and ERA- (113) ranked 30th outside of Colorado and Athletics.

FIELDING METRICS
• Strike Zone Runs (rSZ): -12 (30th)

As Terrell deadpanned: "Good thing it was only hitting the ball, pitching the ball, and fielding the ball where they struggled".

The numbers reflect systemic failure across contact quality, plate discipline, and run prevention.

He noted that this does not include the Rockies or Athletics but honestly we get the point lmao

HÉCTOR RODRÍGUEZ is a bonafide major league baseball player looking to secure a starting corner outfield spot in 2027, after debuting on August 4th, 2026 for the Cincinnati Reds.

Hector’s mix of poised confidence, passion to compete, and explosiveness is impossible to miss when he steps into the batter's circle.

Hector's hands are so quick you'd think he could out-duel any cowboy in an old western.

He got his first taste of the big leagues in 2026, and will get the chance to compete for a starting spot in a corner outfield position in 2027.

Mark Sheldon's MLB.com profile lays out the case: .264 with six homers over his final 29 games including the 115.2 mph splash ball into McCovey Cove.

Terry Francona wants his feet quieter, Krall wants him to shrink the zone, and he's spending the winter working out with Elly in Santo Domingo.

A spot isn't guaranteed for Hector, but how would you like to see him hold down the RF spot in 2027?
