🚨 INTRIGUING: Could Elly De La Cruz be a future Los Angeles Dodger?

The possibility of Cincinnati Reds superstar Elly De La Cruz eventually landing in Los Angeles is an intriguing offseason conversation.

Former Reds star Joey Votto recently floated a hypothetical trade involving De La Cruz and Dodgers prospect Josue De Paula, sparking discussion about what it would take to bring one of baseball’s most electrifying talents to Southern California.

De La Cruz brings a rare combination of elite speed, tremendous power, defensive range, and an explosive arm. At just 24 years old, the switch-hitting shortstop has the tools to become a cornerstone player for years to come.

But acquiring him would be anything but simple.

Cincinnati maintains team control through the 2029 season, giving the Reds little incentive to move their young superstar without receiving an extraordinary return.

For Los Angeles, a potential deal could require sacrificing premium prospects and significant organizational depth.

To be clear, there are no confirmed active trade negotiations between the Dodgers and Reds. This remains speculation rather than an imminent move.

Still, imagining De La Cruz alongside Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, and Freddie Freeman is enough to get Dodgers fans talking.

Shohei Ohtani and Ke'Bryan Hayes in the same sentence has me sick 🤧🤧

After a historic 54-HR, 59-SB regular season with a 181 wRC+, Ohtani slashed .230/.347/.426 with a 30% K-rate across 73 postseason plate appearances, pitchers targeted him with 96+ mph fastballs high-and-tight, then buried sweepers away.

His chase rate spiked from 27.9% to 38.6%, and his zone-contact dropped from 78.5% to 68.9%.

Film showed his front hip opening early, flattening his bat angle and elevating his ground-ball rate to 52%.

Then, a Game 2 shoulder subluxation sapped his bat speed from 75.4 to 69.8 mph.

This smear campaign mirrors what Clayton Kershaw endured for a decade.

Critics weaponized Kershaw's 4.49 playoff ERA, ignoring his identical K-rate (26.8%) and a 3.86 FIP skewed by bullpen meltdowns and strand-rate variance.

In innings 1–5, Kershaw posted a 3.42 ERA; overexposure past 100 pitches inflated his late-inning numbers to 6.88.

Evaluating a generational talent over 70 plate appearances is the small-sample trap.

In July, a two-week slump is routine variance; in October, the media calls it a collapse.

Kershaw silenced the noise in 2020 with a 2.31 World Series ERA.

Shohei's shoulder will heal, his mechanics will sync, and the variance will flip.

Vincent met TJ in June this year when we caught a Louisville Bats game in Gwinnett, Georgia. TJ threw a ball to him, and after the game he took time to meet with fans, take pics, and sign autographs. Vincent was fortunate to get his ball signed. It was such a special moment, and we will always be grateful for those players who take extra time with these “big little” fans. Best of luck TJ, and thank you for all you have done for Cincy! You will always be a Red!!! ❤️

Getting to work for this organization that I love so much the past 6 months has been an absolute dream come true. I’m so blessed to have gotten this opportunity. I worked 75 out of the 81 home games plus many other Reds themed events and I loved it all. This season had me feeling like Drake: “I’m with Red like I’m at a Cincinnati game.”🔴⚾️

One of the MLB’s brightest young stars 🤩

Before making a name for himself in Cincinnati, Elly De La Cruz made his way through the minor leagues, signing this card somewhere along the way before officially making his MLB Debut.

This piece of his journey is now live on Fanatics Collect with a current bid of $25,500 with 6 days remaining.
