Loud fireworks cause distress for millions of horses, pets, and vulnerable people every autumn. With Bonfire night around the corner, it’s time to Go Low. 🎆

Hear why Redwings Ambassador @oliviadbowen chose low-noise fireworks for her wedding to Alex, and how making a simple switch to ‘Go Low’ could help make the coming weeks safer and less stressful for horses, other animals, and vulnerable people—all while keeping the magic of a display alive.

So whether you or someone you know is heading out to purchase fireworks this season, please remember remember to Go Low!

Tap the link in bio to explore our Go Low hub for expert advice, free downloadable posters, and printouts and don’t forget to follow us to learn more about our Go Low campaign!

Thank you always for all your incredible support as we head towards the most challenging time of year for every individual who is at risk from fireworks. ❤️

🐴We are officially Pony Foster Parents 😭🐴 Meet Thumbelina & Mermaid. They are two girls who were rescued by the incredible Redwings Horse Sanctuary.

Thumbelina was seriously neglected when she was rescued by Redwings who saved her & mermaid’s owner could no longer look after her 😢 So we are so greatful to be able to offer them a home. In the hope that they’re happy and want to stay forever one day.

We have a grass area sectioned off for them & also a dry area. Redwings will check in and visit us and give us all of the guidance we need to be the best pony parents for mermaid and Thumbelina. One of my dearest friends Lianne from the incredible Hopefield Animal sanctuary is going to be our Pony hand/extra pony Mumma. As we do not take rescuing animals lightly and want to be the absolute best foster parents we can be.

We can’t even describe how incredible it feels to be able to do this. I dreamed of rescuing animals growing up. 7 year old me would not believe where we are today. 🥹 Welcome to the family girls. We love you so much already 🥲 by @redwingsuk

As fireworks are now on general sale it’s time to ask your friends and ‘neigh’-bours to consider ‘Going Low’ this fireworks night for the sake of our pets, livestock and wildlife, just like we have to at Redwings every year to protect our 1000 rescued residents.

We have postcards available and a version of this letter you can use as well as lots of other resources on our new ‘Go Low’ webpage go-low.org.uk - thank you.

Excuse me! Hey hey! Hey, you there! Yes, you! You looking for your newest villager? We've got the animal for you! Meet Rosco ♥️

Enjoyers of the Animal Crossing series may recognise that our lovely Rosco bears a striking resemblance to Roscoe the villager! 🐴

Rosco's perfect best friend is a confident adult with lots of experience to handle his cheeky personality! He is a massive foodie and loves a good scratch.

Find out more about Rosco and apply to rehome him on our website ♥️

How can we be an influence for good online? This is one of the topics discussed in this week’s episode of Sounds of the Sanctuary with special guest @ridingwithrhi ♥️ 🎙️

S4E3: Infleuncing for Good

Rhi is an online content creator, has her own podcast and is one of our Ambassadors! So we were very excited to sit down with her to talk about looking after yourself and your horse when making content, the rise of horses in marketing, and the red flags you should look out for when watching viral videos that involve animals 🐴

You can listen to Sounds of the Sanctuary on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and Amazon Music!

The impact of fireworks on horses and ponies can be frightening, and Redwings is working to make a difference. 💜

We caught up with Helen from Redwings Horse Sanctuary to find out more about their education and campaigning work, including their campaign to raise awareness of the impact fireworks can have on horses and other animals.

As our 2026 Charity of the Year, we’re proud to be highlighting the important work Redwings does to improve the lives of horses and ponies.
