Sometimes it’s not the ending you wanted but a beginning you needed.

I’m 30 and I’m not afraid to admit:

1. 22 years of trying to become a professional rugby player, I had to decide between business or continue trying with a broken body. I cried just like I lost a loved one. I see friends at my age where I want to be, was it the right decision to go after my dream?

2. When I’m not sure of my direction I make detailed plans believing that’s going to get me somewhere but the feeling of planning is only giving me the feeling of getting ahead. I plan forever and never start.

3. There’s a voice in the back of my head saying ‘am I good enough?’ Before taking a step into the unknown I can hear it faintly, the voice doesn’t win but it doesn’t leave either.

4. I play scenarios in my head that haven’t happened, I close off without you even knowing. I love connecting with people and will give them my time but one wrong move I can cut them off forever.

5. At 15 I moved to a completely new country with my brother, no parents. I was so anxious leaving my family and friends behind, I didn’t know if I was ever going to see them again.

6. I used to showcase a perfect version of myself online and then live an imperfect life offline. I was afraid to fail publicly.

7. I’m sharing my raw journey, if you can relate and want to be part of me building from scratch then follow along 🔐📈

Massive year of learning, growth and transformation.

Wrapped up TMCFIT, in the process was able to create a positive impact on people and make my first $10k in my first month as an online fitness coach but realized my passion didn’t lie in fitness coaching..

Flew to LA to learn more about online business and marketing. I got to expose myself to entrepreneurs making upward of $1mill per month.

Became an uncle to a few of my best mates and had the honor as a groomsmen, to see one of my best mates marry the love of his life.

Achieved 100 grade rugby games for my Rugby club and received a 100 grade cap. Finished off the season by retiring from 23 years of Rugby.

Didn’t think finding love was on my agenda but ended up falling in love with the perfect woman.

Rebuilt my personal brand with clear direction and fulfilled one of my dreams to work alongside my brother and teach him the art of high ticket sales.

Built my dream physique and now shifted my purpose to building my dream business.

Lessons I’ve learnt this year:

• Focus on the internal not the external. Create the identity of who you want to be by showing up each day and living as that person. The habits, thoughts, and actions you take that are aligned with that person will eventually become automatic and you will be living as that person. This is creating true self worth internally, therefore external validation will be non-existent.

• Creating the identity of the person you truly admire will attract this exact person. I didn’t believe there was love to be found but once I created the identity of the man I respect and admire, I attracted the exact person I respect and admire. This was proof that ‘you attract what you are,’ and is true in all areas of life.

• Create unforgettable moments with your loved ones because at the end of your life you will only have memories, nothing else is kept with you when you go. by @reecemauu

Success level is less critical than the direction your habits are taking you. by @reecemauu

4 years ago, I realized something..

Wanting doesn’t change your life.

Decisions do.

So I had to ask myself a tough question:

“What’s weighing me down?”

Not people.
Not circumstances.
My habits.

So I cut what was weighing me down:
•Alcohol
•Impulsive decisions
•‘Good Enough’ effort
•Living with no standards
•Talk over action

For 13 months, I went extreme.

Because the man I wanted to become wasn’t going to arrive through half-effort and wishful thinking.

During that time, I learned how to:

•Say ‘NO’ even when it mattered
•Build self-worth from within
•Live by my standards, not my feelings
•Develop financial discipline
•Replace doubt with belief
•Lead myself, so I could lead others

I wasn’t just rewiring my habits, I was rewiring my identity.

My mindset got sharper.
My physique became proof.
And my income finally aligned with my potential.

I’ve been in sales for 10 years..

But only committed for the last 4

And Freedom became the result of self-respect.

But I also learned I needed to have fun and enjoy life.

You don’t have to choose between discipline and enjoying life.

You just have to earn the right to enjoy it, without losing control.

Now, I choose my moments to go all out.

Not the other way around.

This journey wasn’t easy.
But I prioritised the life I wanted
over the comfort holding me back.

Before a house becomes a dream home, the foundation gets built first.
The design is the vision.
The structure is the work.

If you want to transform your mindset, physique, and income.

Start with the identity of the man who already did.

Your life will rise or fall to the standard you demand from yourself.

Bet on yourself.
It’s the only bet that pays. by @reecemauu

23 years of rugby has come to an end. A chapter of my life that has taught me how to compete to win, create discipline, have tenacious commitment to one craft, build relationships with strangers to work towards the same mission, and constantly push myself to find a way to be a better rugby player than my last season.

Thank you to my family @Mum @joemauu @sashamauu @moniquemauu @emilemauu My why has always been to play for my family and make them proud, seeing them show up week in week out and hearing their cheers from the sideline, giving up their time and being my support crew through out my 23 years is a crazy commitment from you all so thank you.

To my extended family, friends, supporters, coaches, physios, clubs and team mates over the past 23 years thank you for your support and help to keep me on the field and keep pushing me to be a better man on and off the field year on year.

The biggest parts I will miss is running out on that field ready to put everything on the line for your mate next to you and the atmosphere of a big game.

You never know when you’re last game will be but I’ve learnt to give every game 100% so that when I eventually retire I can go out with peace of mind that I did everything on that field and now moving into my next chapter of life I can carry that same mindset.

Rugby has given me purpose and I’ll forever be grateful to the game.
