Flu game like MJ at @chimarathon yesterday, but a little less legendary. Came home in 2:14:30 after coming down with Flu A on Wednesday morning. Disappointed to not be able to capitalize on the best training block of my career, but sometimes that’s life. We work hard for things, we think we’ve earned a certain result or outcome, and we don’t get it. But I’m proud of the mindset I carried throughout yesterday’s race. Despite a less than ideal day, still not feeling 100%, and my first ever mid-race PortaPotty stop, I kept my foot on the gas as much as I could and never quit on myself.

The good news: the work we do on our bodies and minds in training doesn’t go away, and this build showed me that I’m capable of handling more than I previously thought. Looking forward to putting that new belief to work again soon.

Took the win at the @boulderthon Half this morning in 64:31. It’s always good to break the tape, especially at home. Finn’s first race, childhood friends, teammates, neighbors, competitors, and so many other familiar faces out there on the course made this one special.

We’re in a good place. Two weeks to Chicago! taken in Boulder, Colorado by @reedfisch

Race week! Lining up for the half marathon at @boulderthon on Sunday morning. There’s nothing better than sleeping in your own bed before a race, especially when you’re waking up to that Flatirons view.

I’ll also be at the expo at 2pm on Saturday for a Q&A with @precisionfandh, so come say hey and get any pre-race questions answered!

Breathe better, run better. @_fivepointfive has been helping me do both over the past few months. HRV is up, sleep metrics are up, mileage is up, intensity is up, everything’s up—thanks, in part, to consistent breathwork since April. A wide range of performance-focused classes, all in the app and designed to help you recover better, feel smoother, and push harder. Get started on FivePointFive with a free week using code ‘RunWithReed’ at the link in my bio.

That time of year: mileage and carb intake are on the rise. Enjoying some threshold maxxing with @drewhunter00 in the early stages of the build toward my next marathon.

Returning to the roads tomorrow for @chidistanceseries 13.1! I’m glad to be back at this race for the fourth consecutive year, ready to see where my legs are at, and eager to grab some deep dish post-race.
