As the curtains close on this amazing experience co-curating “Forget Me Not”, I want to share this sweet moment I got to experience with Marlon @marlontobiasart from opening day. We met last summer and instantly bonded over his research and our HBCU experiences. Over the past two semesters, I have experienced the most rewarding collaboration which resulted in “Forget Me Not” — an exhibition curated in partnership with Epiphany Center for the Arts and SAIC’s MAAAP Program. Helena, Izzy, Serena, and myself poured a lot of time into this show and had a common goal of introducing emerging and mid-career artists to new audiences. I begin my curatorial career with heavy consideration of the way in which art is perceived and how architecture plays a role in that. our second gig 🥹 @superpositiongallery & @stormascher have been 2 of my favorite blessings this year! had the best time at @thearmoryshow meeting new artists, curators, collectors & art lovers + getting to learn from Storm! never taking your graciousness for granted. thank you!!! 💌 @bcosryan & @marcuslesliesingleton pieces had attendees mesmeriiiiized, check them out!
